Spider-Man Broadway Rehearsals To Start?

We never thought we'd see the day!

Julie Taymor's Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is scheduled to begin rehearsals on August 16.

Rehearsals for choreography and aerial flying lessons began on Monday for some cast members and Reeve Carney, who is playing Peter Parker, Tweeted:

“Wow, man, I can’t wait for the world to see this thing… It’s finally happening!!”

“I honestly can’t believe I’m getting paid to do things my mom would have killed me for when I was a kid! Ha!”

Performance dates are expected to be released soon with previews rumored to start in November at the Hilton Theater.

We're still not sure about this whole thing.

Do U want to see this show actually materialize?

Over a year ago I paid for tickets to this show and it never happened. Had a hard time getting my money back from Ticketmaster too. This time I'll wait to see if it is real or maybe I'll just wait for the movie, or maybe just see La Cage again-that was fun!

It's going to be an amazing show! I hear the actors will fly through the air just like they do in the movie. And that the music will be awesome. I can't wait!

Well I saw Reeve Carney perform live before and he's very talented so I think it'll be a success just because of him.

The concept of Spiderman the Musical doesn't really appeal to me, but Julie Taymor does some pretty amazing work (case in point: her artistic direction of The Lion King on Broadway). My guess is it will be pretty stylized.
