Ouch! He is NOT happy, and rightfully so!

The upcoming, much-anticipated season of Mad Men is almost upon is, and series creator Matthew Weiner, who is notorious about keeping the story under wraps until it airs, is livid about a New York Times article by Alessandra Stanley that reveals quite a few spoilers for what's to come!

He says:

“I was shocked – really shocked. I would love to have it known that this was done totally without my approval. Ninety-nine percent of the reporters who wrote about the show did not write about the story. A lot of people told me they were blindsided by (the Stanley article). You’d think the New York Times wouldn’t have to scoop me. It’s bittersweet when you don’t get to have the experience of seeing the show as it was meant to be seen. In some ways, it ruins the show. I’m kind of powerless. It’s the bargain you make: I wanted to have press, and it was nice to get that kind of space with those pictures. The alternative is not to share these things with the press any more – but how can you expect journalists to write about the show if you don’t? It was all very disappointing to me.”

Lame!

It's too bad that his request for spoiler-free previews was not honored by everyone!

So if you don't want to know what happens, stay away from The New York Times, folks!

What do U think?? Should The New York Times have published that article??

@ Ohio Girl: Well, now we know that you and Sarah Palin don't. But many others do, myself included.

I am French and the NYT is my primary source of information (all languages included). Hence my pretty good command of the English Language. Ohiogirl, you are right : News of the World is so much more of a better rag… But I'll leave it to you. To you and Sarah and all the retarted in her family (and I am not talking about the little one with Down Syndrom).

New York Times writer, Alessandra Stanley, should have used more sense. Mad Men is my most anticipated TV show to air. Thank god, I did not read the item … in fact, when coming attractions were on, I went into a different room. Bad Bad Alessandra!
