We'll take him!

As we previously mentioned, Alan Ball is hard at work for his new HBO pilot, All Signs of Death - and now he's found his leading man!

British actor Ben Whishaw has been cast in the role of Webster Filmore Goodhue, a twenty-something slacker who becomes a crime scene cleaner, finding himself amongst a murder mystery, femme fatale and struggling with his own past.

Whishaw trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and has appearing in films such as Layer Cake, Bright Star and Brideshead Revisited.

The show will begin filming in August in El Lay.

I liked Ben in Perfume and Layer Cake. I don't think he is attractive but he is a good actor. Alan Ball helped write Six Feet Under. If this is on the same level of perfection as that show, then I am totally in.

He also had a recurring role in the liquid genius that was Nathan Barley.

Yay! Good for Ben. I think the combo of him and Alan Ball will be amazing. I loved him and Abbie Cornish in Bright Star, and I always thought the both of them should get more work.

Firstly Ben gave my all time favorite male performance in Perfume. Secondly, the show sounds really cool but Im a little sad that he has to downgrade to T.V. and wasnt able to be a huge mega star on the film scene :(

KidIkarus, THAT'S WHERE I KNOW HIM FROM! He was awesome in Perfume. He's not handsome, but he IS attractive.

the dood just woke up, couldnt even take a shower of comb his hair ?

  16. 16

Quite right KidIkarus, Perfume (despite being no way NEAR as good as the book) was his first huge role. He's also starred in a series of the award-winning BBC crime drama Criminal Justice as a man accused of murder.

Oh and Keefer, why should he shower? he could do an R-Patz and never wash or comb his hair and become a megastar!
