Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Is Getting The Film Treatment!

| Filed under: Hilary DuffFilm FlickersKristen Stewart

We hope they don't fuck this up trying to give it the Where The Wild Things Are treatment! We love this book too much for it to suck!

Director Shawn Levy has reportedly signed on to direct a 'high concept' film adaptation of the Judith Viorst classic Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day!

For those of you who grew up under a rock, the book revolves around a sour puss kid who gets metaphorically shit on for about 45 pages.

We think our favorite little burst of rainbows and kittens Kristen Stewart should play Alexander!

This whole 'high concept' description worries us. Like we mentioned, it worked for Spike Jonze on Where The Wild Things Are, because well, he's a good filmmaker, but Shawn Levy took a massive dump on his version of the Pink Panther (twice!), and when Hilary Duff is the best part of your movie - Cheaper By The Dozen (twice!) - then you pretty much fail at life.

But we refuse to be like our beloved Stewie Puss Puss Alexander and will remain cautiously optimistic about this film!

What do U think?? Will U go see Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day?

Ummm…How are they going to do this, the book is even shorter than where the wild things are. Plus, all he does is lose a few things, get hurt, and get mad. This is a horrible idea, unless it was a 10 minute short.

…OMG…Perez, I actually laughed very hard at this, especially the thought balloon…really funny…

You seriously need to use that kind of language when "reporting" on a children's book/movie? That is why you will NEVER be allowed to have children.

LOL Perez Where the Wild things are was a great movie and if you dont believe check overall reviews on yahoo or metacritic. Afterall you promote horrible music like Slimey or something like it and Travis Gayland or something like it.

As for this movie since I didnt bother to read the book well I wont comment about it.

For those who don't know. There is aBsolutely nothing wrong with Where The Wild Things Are. It's an excellant movie, for children dealing with alot of emotional upset. But is also good for the grownup who needs to be able to understand the upsets of childhood. James Gandolfini does one of the voices(Carol) and he's terrific in it. Don't let someone like Perez, who makes his money off of bashing EVERYTHING, and complimenting noone, spoil one of the best movie experiences ever.

Hey, I liked the CBTD remake and sequel, the 2nd one made me laugh so hard when Steve Martin and Eugene Levy when to peek on their kids at the movie theater.

I'd go, and I'd wear my railroad train pajamas.

Where the Wild Things Are was sooooo unbelievably bad! It was more like "Where the Mood Swings Are." Seriously, kids movies shouldn't be so neurotic. It's a kids movie, not Jesus Camp.

Re: Natalie Sharp – Where the Wild Things Are was made for those who GREW UP with the book, not for kids of today's time. The film was wonderful, shot beautifully and if you checked reviews, was praised. Though I can't help it if you have bad taste.

I won't go to see it. He's a really uninspired director. I think he's one of those guys that negotiates for film rights for prewritten work. I think he also bought film rights to the the Berenstain Bears. Easy money.

Why are you on her back so much? She is good at what she does, deal with it.
