Tanaka Gets The Boot From Glee!
We're not too devastated by this news - his character definitely ran out of steam by the middle of the first season!
Patrick Gallagher, who portrayed football coach Ken Tanaka on Glee, has been cut from the cast of the smash series for its upcoming second season!
He will instead be replaced by a female football coach named Shannon Beiste, who will be played by actress Dot Jones!
Inneresting! Looks like there's a new trick in town to give our beloved Sue Sylvester a run for her money!

Anyone who played football had THAT Coach. I thought he really added to the show and was a nice contrast to the other adult characters. Bad decision glee. Looks like it's turning into HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL.

Glee jumped the shark the second half of the season. I can't say I am that excited to see the new season. Too many guest stars… just not great.

Dickeying with the season 1 cast in any way is usually the first sign that a good show's about to go down the tubes. ("Saved by the Bell" was a freak of nature).
That sucks. I thought his character provided a good balance for the adult cast members! Whatever…I see GLEE lasting maybe another 2 seasons at best. Or better yet…I hope it stays on long enough that they all get a taste of the real world…they move to NYC to try to make it and all wait tables and turn tricks to pay the bills! YES! Hahaha!
I love this guy! Hopefully his departure will lead to better roles, as he is so funny. That said, I LOVE DOT JONES!!!!! Check out her Wickipedia.
