Ellen DeGeneres Quits American Idol!!!!
This was unexpected!
Ellen DeGeneres has just announced that she is leaving American Idol and won't return next season as a judge.
The talk show host and comedian released the following statement, explaining her decision:
"A couple months ago, I let FOX and the "American Idol" producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn't leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on "Idol" and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be."
This does not bode well for the show - at all!
The only thing that can fix this and shake things up???

Smart woman!! This show died when Simon announced his departure! Kara and Randy are SOOO freakin annoying anyway. If Nigel has 1/10th of a brain he will either walk away completely, or change everything about the show… Put in a new set of young judges, and CAN the group singing all together!!

In a way, I'm glad. I love Ellen, but the show wasn't the right fit for her. Based on what I've read, Nigel Lythgoe is replacing all the judges, and only wants 3 there, not 4.

I want GEORGE MICHAEL as judge (not that arrogant old queen Elton, he is to old), not only does he know his stuff, but George is actally really funny. He has a great sense of humour. And George knows exactly what it is like to be a pop super star in your teens and early tweens, he would be able to relate.

She did the right thing by stepping down. Perez, I folow your site and see how cruel you are to groups and singers you like. I also see how nice you can be to groups and singers you like. The problem with you is that you don't know how to be bias. You are one sided. That's cool and I don't hate you for that. What I'm trying to say is that you would do a poor job as a judge. Here's what would happen, you would fall in love with one singer and stick to that singer until the end. All the rest would be trash in your eyes.
I think you people need to look up the defintion of the word BIAS, and learn how to conjugate. And don't be afraid to proofread. Yes, Ellen sucked, Perez would, too, and three is better than four.

She wasn't serious about the show to begin with. She had no music background and for that matter, she was simply a bland buffoon. I think this was just the show being polite in letting her put out a statement to save face. The truth is most likely she was asked to leave or be fired as well.
