Coming To Broadway! An Alice In Wonderland Musical

We're intrigued!

Producers have announced that a new Broadway musical based on Lewis Carroll's classic tale Alice In Wonderland will be opening on April 17, 2011!

Wonderland: A New Alice will put a different spin on the story of Alice and chronicle how she's dealing with her career, her estranged husband and strained relationship with her daughter!

She eventually finds herself in Wonderland among the characters who help her rediscover her life as she searches for her daughter.

Sounds like a clever reinterpretation!

What do U think?

I really beleive this will be a HIT it was tested down here in Tampa, Fl….the costumes are STUNNING and it actually got some very good reveiws…I can't wait to see it come here again….the musical score wasn't too shabby…but those costumes WOW:)

I saw this when it was premiering in Tampa, FL. We sat front row and thought it was terrible!!! The story line was weak and the songs were not catchy. Unless they decided to change alot, including tying in the storylines better… I will not recommend this.

Thank You Jennyr!!! I always feel crazy when this musical comes up! Everyone thinks it's so amazing. I saw it in Tampa as well and hated it! I was really excited about it because of the reviews but it didn't live up to anything! They have A LOT to fix if they want to keep it on b'way!

Terrible terrible terrible idea! What would the Rev. Dodgson say????? DON't mess with a classic! What next, Dorothy and Toto in a trailer park, with Dorothy on food stamps and three ex-husbands hanging around? NO NO NO!!!! what next, Pippi Longstocking in her 60s?

Alice must NEVER grow up, never. She must stay a little girl

What do I say? I say "Pfffffffffffffffffttttttttttttt" Why does Alice always have to be changed from a girl hanging out with her sister into something else?

A friend said it blew people away at the recent NYC reading- still the same idea, but there's supposedly a totally revamped story and a bunch of new songs. We'll see…

lewis carrol had an innapropriate love interest for a real little girl named alice. He was a sick demented person who was into pedophilia. That's why people like Marilyn Manson just love Lewis Carrol-Marilyn Manson is a satanist who follows the likes of Anton Levey and Aleister Crowley—two very sadistic people. Have fun watching your satanic disney flicks you feaks

I am excited for the musical- but PLEASE…could they just leave Alice and wonderland alone??!! I like, love, the original story- sick of these odd adaptatons…it takes the youth and nolstagic feel out of the story we all loved as kids! I want to see Alice and Wonderland, based on the book! Johnny depp was great in the film but the story sucked…I hope this broadway version dont suck too.

I saw it in Tampa and it was amazing. In fact, I went in expecting it to be horrible and was incredibly moved and impressed when I left. Since then, they totally revamped the story and it is a hundred times better. You have to understand that the Tampa and Houston shows were trial. The creative team were always planning on changing the story. I think this is going to be an amazing addition to Broadway and a super fun time. Also, the costumes are super stunning. Gotta give this one a proper chance because it will pleasantly surprise a lot of people :)

Ahhhhh!!! so excited this is finally going to Broadway. I saw this show in Tampa and Houston and I love love loved it!!! (to ArdynJ - the story IS different, but its definitely got enough stuff for the nostalgic needs… but also connects to a more modern audience. Trust me, I hated the Tim Burton movie because it went off too much, but Wonderland has the same idea at heart) Does anybody know how early tickets go on sale????
