Jack Black Reteams With School Of Rock Director

No, they’re not making School of Rock 2….yet.

Jack Black has joined director Richard Linklater’s new dark comedy Bernie.

The story is about a funeral home assistant who befriends an old lady, played by Shirley MacLaine. Jack and Shirley working together? You’ve caught our attention.

Linklater has described the film as “kind of a true crime story.” We had very mixed feelings about The Newton Boys, Richard, but we suppose we’re willing to give you a second chance with a crime movie.

I hope the film is successful. It sounds interesting. Hope Shirley & Jack don't end up a power couple in real life. lol You know it happened to Pitt and the homewrecker.

Re: bgbreakdown – School of Rock is one of my favorite go-to movies when I'm feeling down. I love that film and really wish they'd made School of Rock 2 years ago. Jack Black's performances in certain movies are inconsistent (Nacho Libre anyone?) but when he hits it, he really hots it out of the park. I rarely comment here, but had to show my support for Mr. Black.
