Jay-Z Releasing A Memoir
This is something we'd like to read!
Jay-Z is releasing a memoir that includes interviews with his family and friends, as well as detailed discussions of his lyrics.
The book, titled Decoded, will go all the way back to Jay's childhood, growing up in Brooklyn's Marcy Projects as well as his years as a teen drug dealer, and his path to becoming one of the world's most famous hip hop stars.
When asked about the process he went through while writing the book (along with former The Source editor Dream Hampton) Jay-z said:
"It's too much. For the book, I was interviewed, people close to me were interviewed. So I was learning a lot of things I didn't know as a child. It's not anything I haven't said in the past, in songs. It's just more detailed. A song is three minutes long. A book doesn't have to rhyme, and it has no time limit, so you can say exactly how everything went."
He also delves into the topic of his father, who left his family when he was 11.
"It was still wrong, at the end of the day, but he did stick around at a time where it wasn't particularly cool or popular. He married my mom at a time when guys were just leaving, and you'd never even meet your dad. So it made me ease up a little bit in how I felt about him."
Knowing Jay, this book will be very honest.
We wonder if he talks about life with Beyonce??

what the fuck is with the hate for Jay on this website, guy is an outstanding human being, gives tons back to charity, never has any scandals about him ANYWHERE for a reason folks, puts on fantastic concerts, makes extremely good and consistent music throughout his extremely long and illustrious career. If you're gonna rip someone down, pick a better target people, he should be praised for how he's not in tabloids every week like every other celebrity nowadays, grow the fuck up.
