JetBlue Diva! The Most Epic Resignation!!!!

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueInspiration

Steven Slater, a flight attendant on JetBlue airlines, has become an instant internet sensation after he decided that he had had enough with his job last night, cursed out a passenger, grabbed a beer, and evacuated the plane by deploying the emergency exit slide!

Slater, who is now officially the baddest bitch in the world and our personal hero, apparently got into an argument with an idiotic passenger who was attempting to take their luggage out of the compartment before the flight had completely landed at JFK. The luggage ended up hitting him in the face, and when the passenger refused to apologize for causing the incident, shit got ugly…and AMAZING.

As the plane landed, Slater got on the speaker and gave the entire plane a piece of his mind! He then grabbed a beer, deployed the emergency slide and took off down it!

Authorities apprehended him at his Queens home and he's since been charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, trespassing, and being an all-around badass.

You can show your support of Steven on one of his many Facebook fan pages HERE!

Amazing! We sincerely hope that he doesn't get into too much trouble! He did what everyone who hates their job doesn't have the balls to do!

He deserves a high-five and a cocktail, not a jail sentence!

They said on the morning new that he could face 7 years in prison if convicted. He was just released on $2,500 bail. And the POS passenger gets off scott-free. Welcome to America!

  2. 2

Everyone has shitty jobs. Throwing a fit about it doesn't make you a hero, it makes you a baby.

  3. 3

Why should I support him? Because I'm gay and he is too? He could have handled the situation in a much better way by reporting the passenger. Now he's out of a job and has charges against him. Idiot.

  4. 4

how did he do something illegal? i don't get it…..what's the difference from me getting up and walking away from my desk, out the door (while grabbing a beer on the way) and leaving?
and mario, maybe you don't have the balls to tell people to eff off but I'm sure most people do

  5. 5

Ummm, yeah. Good luck getting a recommendation or another job dude

  6. 6

Re: April 20th – I think it's the whole "deployed the emergency slide and took off down it" Poindexter-X – is right on point…

  7. 7

    SNL host!

  8. 8

He must be gay or you wouldn't be shouting from the rooftops.

  9. 9

I doubt he will ever be allowed to board another plane again. Why is "hero" one of the tags for this, fatso? He isn't a hero, he's a nutjob who snapped. Thank God he did not have a weapon.

  10. 10

well considering his behaviour was dangerous (and immature) he should be in trouble for it

  11. 11

Nice Perez, offering him a cocktail when he is a recovery alcoholic.

  12. 12

I feel his frustration. I couldn't imagine dealing with people on a daily basis - especially people on airplanes. He shouldn't have deployed the emergency slide, of course, but cursing out a rude asshole, I feel is an excellent way to end his career!

  13. 13

He doesn't deserve a high-five, he deserves to be fired and placed in jail. What an immature thing to do on his part. Perez you're a dumbass for supporting this kind of behavior.

  14. 14

Perez wants to live in a world in which gay men and women are never held responsible for their actions. This dandy boy broke the law, throw away the key!

  15. 15

Welcome to the "front lines" of customer service in North America. The people at the top make dumb decisions that infuriate the customers. Guess who gets the brunt of that, every minute of every day. Then you have the moron customers themselves. They think because they are "paying" and can take their business elsewhere, they can act like assholes. They know the front line CS person cannot fight back. Be glad he grabbed a beer and a slide ride. Most these days get a gun and go after their tormentors.

  16. 16

  17. 17

Free Steven. That is how you quit a job baby!

  18. 18

hahaha I would have done the same thing! LOL

  19. 19

You go Steven, I hope you get a reality show out of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. 20

maybe the rude, arrogant passenger…..should be the one on the news instead. Since when is it ok to drop a suitcase on someones head and not apologize..karma honey karma

  21. 21

    Stolen from d listed.

  22. 22

I hope the retard who got up and started unloading the overhead bin before the plane was stopped gets banned from flying. Maybe flight attendants ought to be given stun guns to shock the unholy crap out of idiots like that. If people can't follow the simplest of rules (for the safety of other passengers), they have no business on a plane.

  23. 23

    Stolen from d listed

  24. YUCK says – reply to this

I love this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but how come no oned is bashing the fucking asshole that hit him with his carry on lugage and didnt apologize. he is lucky this guy didnt beat the shit out of him. this guy is awesome fuck the other loser.

  25. 25

  26. 26

I think, the crazy arrogant rude passenger should be in the news instead. Since when is it ok to drop a suitcase on someones head and not apologize. Your mother would be embarrassed. Karma honey. Karma

  27. 27

Perez, You are a fucking moron! I dont understand why you would condone such childish behavior that put an entire fucking plane out of commission and probably delayed hundred of passengers from getting home to their loved ones, children, funerals, wedding etc. You are getting more ridiculous by the fucking day you idiot! I can't wait til you get punched again! That was my favorite story yet! LOL!

  28. 28

He is amazing!! I am a fan! I wish I could do that I am in the travel industry and that is exactly what customer make you want to do!! Free Steven Slater!!

  29. 29

Re: iSayEffU – i think he acted like a 2 yr old throwing a temper tantrum, however don't really see a need to prosecute……esp. 7 yrs in prision like #1 said…….all sounds ridiculous to me tbh…….

  30. 30

"He deserves a high-five and a cocktail, not a jail sentence!"

^ BULL! If a passenger did what he did, they'd be in jail! Airlines treat people like garbage. If you even speak out, they can claim anything and have you arrested. Tough on him. I agree he should not go to jail, but he does NOT deserve praise!

  31. 31

    effing awesome!

  32. 32

just another gay thing with Perez,he gets high on these kind of stories

  33. 33

Well he didn't just throw a fit…he was like fuck you asshole and fuck this job!!!!
good for him…How many of us go to work to a job we hate soooo much and make
so many people unhappy because we're unhappy…alot more people to to quit!!! but just don't harm anyone!!

  34. 34

Figures someone who has a freak out and throws an inappropriate fit is your hero. GTFU moron. If it were a fat straight chick, you'd not say the same.

  35. 35

LOL, —totally reminds me of Half Baked when Scarface is like, "Fuck you, Fuck You, Fuck You.. You're cool… Fuck you. I'm out!" and chucks the hamburger at that dude's face. Classic.

  36. 36

LOL! I read about this on Youtube! I don't blame him! That dizzy woman should have at least apologized for hitting him in the head! >=[

  37. 37

I am a flight attendant and honestly you guys have no idea how bad passengers treat us this day. Just two weeks ago a passenger hit me with the bathroom door because I told him the seatbelt sign was on. I can just see the situation and after working in the airline industry for 23 years he had had enough abuse. When it comes to your safety then you appreciate us but when its time for a drink then you throw it in our face. No he should not have blown a slide but that lady really pushed him over the edge. Next time you are on a plane look at the daily abuse we receive and you will understand why what happen happened!

  38. 38

According to some of the interviews on other sites with some of the passengers & co-workers, it seemed like a lot of them applauded him or were on his side. Some people may think he didn't handle it maturely, but he could have handled it a lot worse (good thing the passenger didn't piss him off mid-flight), and reporting the passenger probably would have amounted to absolutely nothing. Sounds like he really didn't need the job anyway.

  39. 39

you are an idiot! he could have notified the air marshalls and had him escorted off the plane. but no he goes into a rant and jeopardizes innocent lives because he got his panties in a twist.. what if that chute hit someone on the ground? it is as heavy as a truck. gay flight attendants are amongst the rudest of all attendants. hope he gets his ass rammed in jail (oh yeah, that is no punishment)

  40. 40

I really admire the cojones on this guy. I'm sure he got treated like shit on almost every flight he worked on and you can only bare the abuse for so long before something like this happens. The man deserved that beer and much more.

  41. 41

Um, people who fuck up epically really need to stop being rewarded and praised for their poor behavior (hear me Prison Idol?). What happened to tact, humility and decorum?

  42. 42

It's funny how people are twisting this into a gay situation and bashing Perez simply because he sides with him, you know, because he's gay too. Bullshit. It doesn't matter if this guy is straight, gay, female or fat, the point is, people like him get shit on everyday by customers who think just because "we pay your salary," they have the right to treat you any kind of way. I've worked before in various customer service jobs, so I can empathize with Slater, although I wouldn't have done the same thing. People can push you to the breaking point, and yes, it's all a matter of common sense and self-control in how you deal with it, but service workers have a lot on their plate as well, and they really don't someone to add unnecessary and unwarranted pressure on them just b/c they think they can.

  43. 43

The blow up is deeper than a suitcase in the face. It apparently was the last straw for the pent up frustration and job requirements. Some folks can only take it so long, especially gay folks who seem to harbor rejections from the past.

  44. 44

Im inlove,, to bad im not a boy.

  45. 45

I'm ashamed to be gay. He's an embarrassment to the rest of us who are not diva's. Hope he gets what he deserves. Thanks a lot loser.

  46. 46

  47. 47

He's my hero too…I used to fantasize about quitting my miserable job on the store's PA speaker - cussing out the boss, revealing that he cheats on his wife with prostitutes, and announcing the key to the coded price tags so the shoppers could see how much they were over-paying for cheap jewelry! Unfortunately I got fired first.LOL!

  48. 48

He's a hero to all the people who have ever worked in the customer service industry. You deal with idiots ALL THE TIME. There's going to be a point where you snap. His just happened to be publicized.

  49. 49

nahahahaah aren't all of those misdemeanors? wtf did he say on the loud speaker

  50. 50

why do some people leave such negative comments about simple, irrelevant to their lives stories that they chose to read? strange.

  51. 51

    Re: JoeDawg – 45 Re: Pegomyhart2
Why does his sexuality make any difference to you or anyone?

  52. 52

    Team Slater.

  53. 53

Its hilarious that just because someone is gay they can do no wrong in your eyes. If this was anyone else you would have said they were a crazy person or something like that.

  54. 54

Re: rawatl – I commend you on doing what you do! I see the abuse airline staff receive and I can't believe they manage to keep a smile on their faces. I've seen air hostesses nearly break down in tears over the abuse they receive. It's terrible. I don't know about the US, but in the UK, they're paid £13,000 to work full-time, live away from home and deal with abuse everyday. They're far too under-paid and under-appreciated!

  55. 55

He sounds like a total dick. What an attention seeker and cry baby, kinda wish he'd deployed the slide whilst they were still in the air, one less dickhead to worry about.

  56. 56

Why are retards claiming him to be a hero? Are you kidding me? People at the place of work need to be professional no matter how much it hurts to do so. You don't pull that kind of shit when peoples lives are at stake..On a plane.

  57. 57

You know everyone's on crack when someone becomes a hero for cursing off plane passengers. I ain't afraid to tell people to fuck off but depending on the enviornment, there's a different way to do that. I'm sure there were children on the plane who didn't need to hear the shit he said. If any of you heard the audio, I hope you find it as pathetic as I do.. but then again, half the people on this site don't have a brain. Including Perez himself. I think he deserves the maximum sentence he could get. Next time use the exit when the plane is in motion dumbass.

  58. 58

you're saying to free steve slater just because he looks like a flammer!!! what he did was wrong! he knew what he was getting into when he signed on for the job…jobs aren't easy, there is always drama to deal with, grow the fuck up and take on your responsibilities!! he put the people on the plane at risk as well as the people on the ground at risk…he should be thrown in jail for his stupiditiy…not praised!
you'll support anyone who is gay perez….you need to just shut the fuck up..

  59. 59

    Re: ShawnyBoo
Yeah, I'm sure those children on the plane, if there were any, are going to be scarred for life, all the while as they return to their daily routines being exposed to video games, movies, and/or music much more violent than this man's outburst.

  60. 60

Re: rawatl – I completely agree. I could not do you do! I commend you. You deserve so much more respect & appreciation than the general public gives. When the airlines fail the passengers- the public takes it out on you! I travel often and I can not get over how disrespectful the public is. Their behavior is terrible. I do not enjoy traveling or flying any more becuase every single flight I always have some loud shrill woman yelling in my ear, men on their cell phones shouting their entire conversation for the world to hear and rude people pulling stunts like what this guy went through. It is really sad - the airlines needs to start fineing customers who do not behave.

  61. 61

I'm confused. How does throwing a fit, STEALING a beer, deploying a emergency slide (that COULD have hurt someone if there had been someone on the ground) make him AMAZING? He works with the public and couldn't control himself or his mouth. That's not amazing. BTW, the luggage didn't hit him, the bin door did.

  62. 62

You should post the story about the girl who quit by emailing pictures to her company and posting her message via dry erase board. Little less dramatic and dangerous–much more epic.

  63. 63

    Re: Asian_Princess
Where are you and everyone else getting that Perez only supports him on this b/c he's gay? Look at the other sites reporting this: a lot of straight are supporting him as well.

  64. 64

So i guess perez if terrorists were gay you would be totally supporting them fuck u and ur double standards people might have died and he should get away with it just because hes gay u fuckin weirdo hes HIV positive clearly he has irresponsible stapmed on his fuckin head . Ur a fuckin phsyco ur spreading straight-phobia lol celebs are only supporting u so they cant get more rating they proly make fun of u when alone lolz Baby

  65. @v@ says – reply to this

So they charged him, as the deployed chute could have injured someone; but I must say that this tale will be well loved around the avionics water coolers. It's a 'Mad' magazine 'things you WISH you had said and done' moment. Brilliant, even if illegal. If he had grandkids, they'd love him for this.

  66. 66

Take the story for what it is, it is HILARIOUS. If I it wasn't a gay man, it would still be a hilarious story. I'm sure the guy acted like a professional for as long as he could have. If you were in that situation time and time again I'm sure you would have blown up eventually. You people aren't saints.

  67. 67

Man, if you're gay, perez will support you no matter what you do. He should have let the TSA deal with the passenger once they fully landed. Still no reason to throw a fit.

  68. 68

I work in customer service. There are so many times when I want to just freak out on people. That said…the emergency slide? Really? Not the best move. Get angry, quit, have a beer…but don't be stupid. He did do something wrong there. He does deserve to be punished for it.

  69. 69

Well, while I totally sympathize with his reasons, I am apalled by his reaction…ain't funny in a post 9/11 world. He should definitely face some kind of prosecution and punishment for deploying that slide.

  70. 70

Well the passenger did curse him out first and his luggage hit the man in his head. I think that's what set him off. Did anyone check his head? True I would have handled it different. But, this was so odd. He does not deserve 7 years in jail. No passangers were ever in danger. But, I would have went out the door first!

  71. 71

The passenger was the wrong one here. You shouldn't take out your luggage out of the bin until you stop. And Steven kuddos to you sir. I don't know how I could handle people being rude to me for no reason. He didn't harm anyone, but sliding down the slide classy move.

  72. 72

I agree with PoindexterX. But it does sound like the guy had alot on his plate. I am happy he told off that passenger though. I just wish he didnt lose his job over it. And he definitely does NOT need to go to jail.

  73. 73

Dude YOU ROCK Talk about "making a statement" Stick a for k in me Im done!!!!!

  74. 74

they expect us to be treated like shit by passengers and just stand there and take it. I say hell no! I do not know who these passengers think to be… BRAVO STEVEN, can't believe the customer was not charged for battery or something…

  75. 75

Its great-Ilove it!!There are so many rude-obnxious-self absorbed people-its great that one was put in their place!!Steven Slater rocks!!

  76. 76

Re: Carlo_B – Yes, and everybody else on the plane would have died too… thick much?
Re: NookiesWA – The plane had landed, no one's life was in danger. Having to go to jail over something like this is just mad, he didn't hurt anyone. He did, however, delay a flight so he probably has to pay the airline money.

  77. 77

i'm not sure why we are supposed to praise him…what he did was unprofessional and completely uncalled for. Oh yeah, and it was all illegal.
If every flight attendant behaved that way, no one would feel safe on an airplane.
Him being gay is not a reason to support his bad behavior.

  78. 78

He is definately my hero of the day. Now he has shown the world, what happens when you treat service staff with such disrepsect day acfter day. Yeah Steven.
As for the idiot passenger, I hope she receives her karma for costing him his job.
