Johnny Carson Still Giving Back

Although he passed away in 2005, Johnny Carson's charitable foundation is still giving!

$156 million was transferred from the comedian's estate to the John W. Carson Foundation, which gives the foundation a larger bank account than most charities.

Johnny never did much to publicize his good deeds when he was alive, but he gave sizable donations to environmental groups, AIDS charities, schools, children’s aid organizations, and not-for-profits in his home state of Nebraska.

Just last year, the foundation donated $4 million to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, $100,000 for the Los Angeles Free Clinic and $125,000 for a Planned Parenthood high school sex education initiative.

sex ed starts at home and so should all education. this country is entirely to reliant on school teachers teaching our children everything they need to know…………surprised they don't teach potty training in pre-school (they probably do somewhere, too hard for working parents to show their kid how to pee in a toilet).

All that charity and good works, but Johnny refused to even meet his Black granddaughter, his son's illegitimate child. His heart was stone and his liver was pickled.

The king of late night. It's almost embarrassing what we have to watch nowadays. A ship of unfunny fools compared to Johnny Carson.

Re: marlow – I agree. I miss Johnny. In a completely different way, I think Letterman is good too.

He was always an astute business man — knew his fame and fortune could go at any time so he made his investments and business ventures work. It's good news to hear that his estate is still giving back. And to the RIGHT kind of orgs!!

Johnny was olde school. Nowadays, the fat profits are taken and the corporate heads run off with obscene bonuses for themselves. Give back.
