Ne-Yo Talks MJ, Releasing New Music
We would love this!
Ne-Yo wrote songs for Michael Jackson specifically and has said that it would be "disrespectful" to pass them on to other musical artists outside of the Jackson Family.
Now he's hoping that Janet Jackson will bring new life to the songs. He explains:
"I've been trying to figure out what to do with those songs. I can't give them to anybody else because they were written for Michael. That would be disrespectful. So if I could get Janet and the brothers to do a collaborative tribute, that would be a great idea.
"There are about 10 he personally selected. He told me, 'I like this one, this one, this one.' I can't just put them out by myself because again they were meant for him but they're really good songs, it's good quality music."
We think that's a pretty good idea actually!
But will Janet be up for a collaboration with her brothers?

I remember this picture. Talk at the time was that Janet was actually purposely trying to distance herself from Michael and Latoya's weirdness, and that she adopted this look in order to look as dark and ethnic as possible. And it worked. She looks a beautiful medium complexion, with fake but sort of natural looking braids and an African inspired head-wrap. Michael, in contrast, looks completely artificial and woman-like.

I think that's a great idea and would love to see this come true. That is so nice of Ne-Yo to consider Michael's feelings which is more then I can say for other people.
Only if she keeps it real and tries to stay humble about it and not some desperate calculating move. I think what's been missing from Janet's career is a sense that she's keeping it real. All she sings about is sex. Her best album by far was Velvet Rope, both artisticly and conceptually. It was her best and most honest. Keep it real Janet and work with your brothers.

She looked beautiful. Yeah, at the time Janet's career was pretty hot. She's become less relatable lately. Hope she can get back to that.
Janet needs to reinvent herself completely to restore her legacy. I still hear old school Madonna, Whitney and Mariah on the radio but Janet's backcatalog seems to be largly forgotten which is sad. She needs to get away from R&B/Hip Hop and go back to all out dance pop or dance rock.
i think janet can and should do it solo! she's the only one in that family with talent and now famewhoring around her borthers death!
I read that about Ne-yo wanting to keep the songs and not give them away. Very noble and sweet of him. But yeah, I think it's a good idea to see if the Jackson sibs (Janet, etc.)can sing the song. =]

Re: FattieMcNasty – well you were wrong. One of Michael's favorite things he liked experiencing as an artists was to enjoy the work of other artist. He said before that when people came to him with ideas that he liked then he had no problem working with them. Yes some of his biggest songs were created in his "Giving Tree" but he created in other places and creations were gladly given to him by other talented artist.

paul could have bought the cataloge himself but he declined so it couldnt have meant that much to him! so obviosly someone was going to buy it!! and that someone was michael jackson, again proving he is not just an entertainer but a very smart buisnessman aswell, as it turned out to be one of his most valued assets!… too bad for sir paul, he was loaded aswell and could easily have bought it if he wanted to, and it was nothing personal on michaels part, he actually owns alot of artists music, as well as owning his own!! yes there are many artists out there (including paul mccartney) who have to pay michael jackson everytime they sing certain songs of theirs.
Its a free market, and it was for sale, and michael jackson purchased it.. you carry on as if he stole it or something!!
