Sly Snubbed By Segal & Van Damme!

Whatever! Their loss!

Sources reveal that Sylvester Stallone offered roles to both Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme in The Expendables and both of them turned him down.

While on the red carpet, Sly told a reporter: "I called Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal and they just had different ideas on their careers. But I did the best I could, you know?"

We're their ideas not to have one? Seriously, what are either of them doing right now that is soooo important??? That cop show of Van Damme's? Please!

If Arnold Schwarzenegger could take time out from ignoring the $ 19 billion deficit, they could have managed to be in this movie!

Boo!

What is wrong with Stallone's face?! Someone please tell me! Is that the result of being hit repeatedly in the face?

  2. 2

"we're [sic] their ideas not to have one?" SERIOUSLY PEREZ????? it's were. no apostrophe because IT'S NOT A CONTRACTION.

  3. 3

I thought Seagal was the one with the cop show?

  4. 4

bs! I highly doubt Jean-Claude Van Damme would turn down such a roll.

Having a personal vision for their careers is not a snub, Perez. Mentally, I wanted both of them, along with Chuck Norris, in that line-up. Too bad, but I'm sure it's no affront to Stallone, but a decision that they might be regretting with a bit of nostalgia.

Further, if Stallone does a series of these, (and lord knows he has the talent line-up), you might see ALL of these faces eventually. They all have major screen power and skills based on years of experience, and loyal fans; and any movies these guys do will have to be better than some of the celluloid schlock that's churned out now, with some exceptions. I never left a Stallone movie feeling anything but karmic elation, which is how they wrote them. : )

  7. 7

definitely something strange going on with his face!

  8. 8

Ugh they're such pretentious douchebags, bet they wanted it to be their idea to do this movie.

  9. 9

    That "cop show" is Seagal's.

  10. 10

Seagal is 40lbs overweight and ashamed to be photographed. Van Damme always walked a different path.

  11. 11

The girl in back looks just like Chaz Bono–if she was skinny and before her boobies got cut off and detachable peen etc, otherwise, she looks exactly like her.

I love that Sly and these guys are taking their destiny into their own hands and churning out their own 'good values-good guys triumph' action movies. Somehow Hollywood doesn't think honor matters anymore.

Why do people think his face looks strange? He looks damn good. He's making an expression.

  14. 14

That is not a snub, they just did not want to do it

  15. 15

The cop show is Seagal, and what's wrong with Stallone's face is the same thing wrong with Mickey Rourke's…too much bad plastic surgery and likely steroid abuse.

  16. 16

they shouldve done the movie at least cameos

  17. 17

Van Damme went down a different path since he did JCVD. Even the new Universal Soldier is more serious.

As for Steven Segal, he's on a cop show now right?

Who knows if Stallone makes a series of this, they could end up being in later movies. Just a thought.

  18. 18

When did he get so FAT?

  19. 19

OMG! Where are their necks? Is it a new epidemic virus?

    Re: t0rrents
That sentence is so messed up! What does that mean?…..

"we're their ideas not to have one?" I keep telling you, Mario, go and get your GED and brush up on your English.

  21. 21

Seagal and Van Damme won't be missed. Sly got the great ones and he's a terrific talented guy.

  22. 22

Perhaps Seagal & Van Damme turned down the offer for personal reasons. Probably they love the idea, but it happens in a bad time. It was reported that Seagal is overweight and Van Damme is still struggling with his problems. They are all hearsays anyway, so I´m not paying attention that much. If expandables will be a success, I´m sure there will be another movie where the other ex-actions superstar actors will be appearing. More money can do the trick.

  23. 23

Well Steven Seagal probably is still stinging from the lawsuit PR. JVD is an ass … probably demanded to be the main character.

  24. 24

The movie looks good. Can't wait to see it. Seagal and Van Dam blew it.

  25. 25

Seagal has the cop show. I never knew Van Damme had one too.
    Oh well, their loss.

  26. 26

Not everyone is still stuck in the eigthies like Sly

Re: Anuschka – A guy who pulls together a movie like this isn't stuck in the eighties. He's working making a Hollywood MOVIE, in 2010. Even if he was stuck in the eighties, then so are the massive population curve of suburban and urban boomers who have money and no movies to go to that interest them. Apart from maybe THIS one, and any future ones. : )
