T-Swizzle Does It Again!!!

She's made history yet again! There is no stopping her! (What say you now, Kanye???)

Taylor Swift is projected to have one hell of an opening week for her new single, Mine. Experts are saying that she is poised for the #3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list as well as taking the #1 spot in digital downloads.

With numbers like that, she has become the second female singer in the history of the Hot 100 chart to debut multiple tracks in the top five during a calendar year. Guess the first? Too slow, it was Mariah Carey back in 1995.

The song, to date, has had the eighth-biggest debut sales week ever for a digital song, and the fourth-best of the year.

Congrats, girl! You sooo earned this!

Listen to Mine (below).

She's a very STYLISH young lady.

  2. 2

    Let me guess,more boy/girl drool.

  3. 3

so once again it will be an album with one new single (Mine) and 15 repetitive songs that sound just like it (Yours, Ours, Theirs, etc…….)

  4. 4

She sucks. Talentless pig has songs which sound all the same. She might be making millions, she might be setting records, she might have alot of views on youtube but who cares, people are dumb and they will listen to anything that is popular. She isn't even a country singer, she sounds pretty much pop.

  5. 5

Look - I think she's a sweet and lovely thing, love her hair, love her dresses, but that song….gosh darn - it's just completely, hopelessly generic. WHY would anyone shell out money for this is beyond me!!

  6. 6

This is 2010! Why do people still listen to country? America must have a lot of hillbillies. Let me say a prayer to jesus and maybe she will die

  7. 7

I wonder who spend money buying this crap?

  8. 8

This is NOT country music, so let's stop slamming country. Just because it's 2010 doesn't mean country music isn't relevant. As for Ms. Swift, this will probably be more of the same 'he left me at the prom', 'you belong to me', Romeo & Juliet-style songs. It just goes to show that there's a certain segment of the population who will follow like sheep. This album has probably been Autotune-d and overproduced to death to make her weak vocals palatable. I won't be buying it - that's for sure.

  9. 9

She deserves it! She is one of the few artists who write and produce songs from their heart, and not all of this sex money drugs BS. GO TAYLOR!

  10. 10

    She deserves it!
It doesn't matter what kind of comments you guys put here, she is still going to continue what she loves to do.
And as long as she continues to grace the music industry, I (as well as others) will be happy that there is someone wholesome, sweet and appreciative whom young girls can look up to.
So continue writing these snide remarks, while pretending they might change everyones opinion - they don't mean shit to this successful young woman or her fans.

  11. 11

    Congrats!

  12. 12

It's alright. It just sounds just like everything else though.

  13. 13

I don't get people sometimes. On one hand, they complain about all the sex-uped, publicity driven, plastic looking, auto-tuned singers who don't write their own shit or play a musical instrument, but when someone does the opposite, then they complain they write simple songs, can't sing, not a good guitar player, etc. If you're not going to buy anything from her, that's your prerogative, but there's no need to announce it to the world you're not doing so. No one thinks you're cool for it.

    Re: VanessaXDD
"but who cares, people are dumb and they will listen to anything that is popular."
Thank you, but you have just described about 50 years of pop music history. Yes, people buy what is popular–that's why it's called popular music. Big Band, Elvis, the Beatles, Motown, Disco, new wave, hip-hop, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks, grunge, boy bands, Madonna, hip-hop,etc. were once or still are popular. Does that make the people who listened to any of that dumb? You really shouldn't throw that word around, because I don't see anywhere in your post where YOU sound like the "smart one."

Re: xoxoBanz – There is more to music than the Top 40 bullshit. Taylor = overrated. You obviously have generic taste, which means if you haven't discovered GOOD music by now, you never will. And if you consider TAYLOR to be good? *sighs*

  16. 16

    i agree… all of her songs are boy-girl sound-a-likes….
(but still… much better than katy perry screeching)

  17. 17

    well done taylor x

and did i see right, did perez acknowledge a mariah carey achievment twice in one week

  18. 18

Good job Taylor! She deserves it!

    19

    oh my….CRAP rools nowadays…

No offence…she is probably a nice girl…but her music- eeehhh
Congrats! To sell complete SHIT is also kinda a talent,I guess..hehe…Maybe she is good at it. Not everybody can do it. Props to her !

  20. 20

It made me sick the way people were just handing her all those awards last year. She is such a boring generic artist, whose music all sounds the same! Maybe it was b'cuz she was a fresh new artist, but if she gets a shit load of awards this go round for the same type of generic music then I'm going to believe she must have some ties to some secret societies.

  21. 21

Re: annelhombre – Maybe not sex and drugs, but money YES, her daddy's!

  22. 22

Re: annelhombre – Yeah GO TAYLOR- GO AWAY!

    23

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORINGGGGGGGGGG

  24. 24

i keep thinking of this chick as a newcomer and forget she's had a few albums out… maybe it's bc all her songs sound the same and she still looks 15…???

  25. 25

    i love this song

  26. 26

    Re: Sherilyn – Touche.

  27. 27

i LOVE this song so much, i found it on youtube and have had it on repeat, i will definitly be buying it when its released

  28. 28

This song sounds just like any of her other songs…SMDH… why are people buying into this crap????? She needs to change her sound….just lame..

  29. 29

Cute… But… All her songs sound the same…

  30. 30

can we just be honest and everything else aside say that the new song is crap and she cant carry a tune? cause thats the truth.

  31. 31

But she can't sing and all her music sounds the same?

  32. 32

but whatever, I don't buy her music but that's just me. But she is pretty though.

  33. 33

    Re: lindamichelle1 – It's been released :)

  34. 34

i think that she is proof that you don't need sex to sell… there's nothing about this girl that I don't like

  35. 35

    Re: kaykay85
Shouldn't GOOD music be determined by the individual listener? There's a lot of music out there considered GOOD that I consider crap (and I'm sure a lot of music pleasurable to my ears is crap to some people), but I'm not so arrogant enough to put down people for their taste in music or make baseless assumptions about them because of it.

  36. 36

Re: DanielDax – My thoughts exactly. Oh well the majority of the reader believe Lady Gaga and the other crap out there is good. The music industry is all about sex and drugs. It is very rare when you find one that is not teaching children that life is not all about sex and drugs, but something greater. Whatever, you'll be complaining more and begging them to listen to artist like Taylor when your children are trying to become the next douche on MTV or Hugh Heffners girlfriend to be on Playboy.

  37. 37

Re: **KC** – Taylor Swift is so commercialized and overrated. She cannot sing. Thats all there is to it. Talent isn't necessary to get a record deal these days. Sure she has millions of fans (Fans who need to have their ears checked), which is good I guess. But she did not deserve all those awards last year. Beyonce' has this girl beat in all aspects of music, and should have won the award for video of the year. Kanye did her a favor by interrupting her speech last year. I hope she thanked him, being the "wholesome & sweet" girl that she is *rolls eyes*

  38. 38

    Re: kaykay85
I tried to be open-minded and tried to listen to Taylor Swift to see what she was all about. Really wasn't my cup of tea. But I respect her. She's unpretentious, humble, honest, seems to really love what she's doing and doing what she loves, and isn't much of a carbon copy of other singers her age. While I don't think she should have won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, she is doing what a lot of other artists can't seem to do right now, which is sell a ton of actual CDs. She was selling millions long before the Kanye West incident.

  39. 39

Re: kaykay85 – Beyonce DID win video of the year. Taylor won the female category I believe.
