Justin Bieber is officially well on his way to 3D glory!
After An Inconvenient Truth director Davis Guggenheim dropped out of the Biebs’ 3D movie, the search was on for a worthy replacement. Paramount has found that replacement in Step Up 3D director Jon Chu.
Here’s what Chu had to say about the honor:
"When I was approached about doing Justin's film, I jumped at the opportunity to tell a story with honesty and heart. Most people don't know that his is a true underdog story, and I hope to tell it in a compelling, genuine way, using all source materials available to convey his tale of becoming an icon for this digital age. This is the story of a new voice continuing the tradition of musicians that defined their generation."
Right on, Jon!
While the prestige factor may have slightly diminished with this change, we think the Step Up movies might be better experience than a documentary about global warming.
Filming for the Biebs’ movie has already begun. They’re currently shooting behind-the-scenes footage from his Nashville concert. From there, cameras will follow him until his Madison Square Garden concert on August 31.
3D Bieber will hit theaters on February 11, 2011, which is Valentine’s Day weekend.
Will U celebrate your love with that special someone by watching 3 dimensions of Bieber?
