Looks like the former Governor of Illinois is in luck!

Rod Blagojevich was convicted of giving false information to feds, but he got away with 23 other charges due to a Hung Jury!

The Jurors were in deliberation for 14 days, but they just couldn't come together to convict him on the major corruption charges. Good for you douchebag Blago, good for you!

Blago's more serious charges included racketeering, wire fraud, attempted extortion, and bribery.

Bribery, eh? We HOPE you didn't bribe any members of that jury, Blago. We really hope not.

What do U think of the verdict of the Blago trial?

23 additional counts and they couldn't come to an agreement on any of them? Regardless, he has been found guilty of a federal offence. It's not over for him. Back to trial at the taxpayer's expense.

as a resident of Illinois..i'm so disgusted with the jurors decisions. ONE count, even though he was recorded attempted selling a senate seat. Just proves that Illinois will always and forever be full of corruption.

50 lashes with a wet noodle!

I liked the guy on Celebrity Apprentice…he was a hoot. Saying over and over "I am not guilty"…kinda like Richard Nixon's "I am not a crook"!!!
But I really did like him. Believing him is another question…not sure about that. Liked his wife too.

    Bleh…

This clown has a teflon a coat. Oh, well.
    Better luck next time.
And there's sure to be a next time.

Perez. Can you do a split screen - you and this guy? He could be your brother!

Though I would have LOVED to seen the dumb smirk be wiped off blago's face when the jury found him guilty on all 24 counts, lets be honest….the recordings were only him talking about what he wanted to do…none of them had an action following them. The government jumped too soon. If they were to have waited for another 3-4 months then my guess is that he would be found guilty almost ALL counts.
There's been talk of the prosecution (govt) appealing the jury's decision in which case the prosecution can see where the numbers were with jury and their deliberations.
The people of Illinois (i'm a 19 year citizen of this lovely bankrupt and corrupted state) can be mad all they want…but it certainly isn't over for Blago and his family.

Re: hamnip – lame fucking comment

Well I guess he has some powerful friends upthere

People deserve the government they vote for.
You own it, you Flopbama voters.

    Atonement is possible.
    Just stay home in November.

In Illinois, you don't go to jail for being a corrupt politician, you go to jail for getting caught. He'll totally eat it on the re-trial. Also, Re: luvs2tango – - eat a bowl of dicks. Gay ones, WITH AIDS IN THEM.

  14. 14

You make it sound as if that's that… and it's not. The one charge that he was found guilty of will stick and the rest is deemed a mistrial - and the prosecutors are going to re-try him on the remaining 23 counts, so it is far from over and he is far from 'lucky.'

  15. 15

If he wasn't convicted of anything else, how could they convict him of lying to the FBI??? Illinois/Chicago politics as usual.

  16. 16

I can't believe the hair crimes charge didn't stick.

  17. 17

It's a shame that they we not able to call to the stand all relevant witnesses. *cough*Rahm Emanuel and Barry Obama*cough.

I think they should just let this trial go and let the guy go. This is just wasting taxpayers money making a scene out of something that never happened. Yeah, he said he was going to sell but he never got paid so what gives? He lost his career, credibility, and will never hold a seat in office ever again what more can you do or he to ruin his life? I just feel for his kids but geez this trial thing is just a fucking circus at this point why else would the jury be so indecisive? They have their reasons…this trial is stupid!

Re: HappyStew – Just like someone from Chicago - thinking there's nothing in Illinois south of Joliet…

this is a sad day in chicago. almost as bad the day steve bartman ruined every cubbie fan 7 years ago this fall i think. i know there's to be a retrial, but what a waste of money. he's such a complete idiot and is the reason chicago politics are a joke.

  21. 21

This is Chicago politics and these are Chicago politicians did you expect any different?????

  22. 22

I feel bad for my hometown ( yes im born and raised in Chicago). I actually voted for this guy cause i thought he would b different. He seemed like an honest family man at the time. So yeah im majorly disappointed and fed up with Illinois politics.

Re: Serena Loves Mario – What are you talking about?! They're just saying they love Chicago… as do all of us Chicagoans. Well, now that I think about it, there really ISN'T anything south of the city… Joliet is too far out there even! The rest of Illinois is worthless unless you're going to U of I, or you want some corn or soybeans!

This doesn't surprise me. Maybe he knows too much, and convicting might cause him to spill some beans, because this guy looooves to talk.
