The Truth At Last! Why Seagal and Van Damme Snubbed Sly!

Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme didn’t have enough of a sense of humor for The Expendables!

We were wondering what was up with Seagal and Van Damme. It didn’t make sense to us that they would pass up on a possibility to actually be in a theatrically released film. Seemed bizarre.

Here’s what Sylvester Stallone has said on the subject:

"I wanted to set Jean-Claude against Jet Li, but he didn't want to lose to Jet. He didn't think that was cool. But that's why it would be cool; to have Jean-Claude beaten by the other man. Hey, they could have a rematch. But Steven Seagal and Van Damme, they weren't really into our gallows humor."

Wahhh, we’re Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme and we don’t think it would be funny for us to lose in a fight on the big screen, wahhh. At least you guys would have been on the big screen.

Was this really the reason you guys bailed on the movie? Oh well…we wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors…

Steven: Keep up the wonderful work with that reality cop show.

Jean-Claude: We’ll eagerly anticipate the next inevitable installment of the Universal Soldier franchise.

Do U think Seagal and Van Damme should have done The Expendables?

The only thing worse than being a has-been loser, is being a has-been loser with a big ego. JCVD & Seagal have no sense of humor. They can't even differentiate between losing a fight in a movie and losing in real life. Either way, Jet Li would still be able to kick both of their has-been losers asses.

Perez, you wouldn't have to mention you're gay to anyone, just show them a sample of your writing and I think anyone can tell you're a flaming homo.

  3. 3

    who cares…

  4. 4

they really need to star in revenge of the nerds part 3

  5. 5

No I don't think ANYONE should have done the Expendables.

  6. 6

Yes. They should have done it.

  7. 7

Due to them believing themselves to be the characters they've portrayed, they've missed out on millions of dollars, as well as a chance to have their careers possibly been revived. They are beyond stupid.

    Ha those two were idiots.
    The Expendables was awesome.

  11. 11

this could of revived both their careers instead of being on the 2 dollar rack

i used to have van damme on my wall and watched seagal doing akido we even joined classes but both have faded out in recent years

clearly they both dont know a good thing when it slaps them in the face

Well… I guess it's a "English is the only language in the world" thing again… but you might want to try checking out J.C.V.D. before you comment

The REAL reason is because JVD is known to have had problems with cocaine in the past and he was supposed to play Lundgren's role (character is a cokehead).

  14. 14

Go ahead, Sylvester, inject more steroids into your body. They make you look GREAT! Ugly idiot.

Re: the real carmen – hahaha….you damn right!

Maybe because Seagal insisted on wearing his Bea Arthur "Then There's Maude!" smock and Jean Claude's trade-mark ass is sagging big-time. Plus the two of them consider they are "Icon's" and not actor/entertainers, and didn't agree with the casting, IMHOP.
