    Kudos to keisha. Gold is a better dental material from a biological point of view than porcelain. It is less abrasive than the opposing dentition and this is especially important for a upper canine as that tooth takes on a lot of lateral force during chewing. Gold is also cheaper, the dentist has to drill away less of the underlying tooth before placing crown if it's made of gold, and plague doesn't adhere very well to gold. :p
