Many gathered for a candlelight vigil in Malibu Tuesday night to remember Dr. Frank Ryan.

"I think about how many people were touched by [going to his] Bony Pony Ranch," said a woman involved with the Dr. Ryan Foundation. "Part of his legacy will be the people he never treated – the people who never came into Beverly Hills."

Heidi Montag did not come to the vigil, but she did Tweet that Dr. Ryan was "an angel."

"I'm devastated," said Lawonna Rashad, who was also involved in Ryan's charity. "I've known him for nine years. An angel has been taken away from me. His circle was Beverly Hills and Malibu, but it was also South Central and Compton."

Sad. He will be greatly missed.

This one more thing that proves that celebrities' priorities are all fucked up.

    I mean, a fucking vigil?!?

    *

They're crying and boo-hooing over a plastic surgeon who turned tem all in to Frankenstein's mosnters?

    *

And they want the rest of us, we sane people, to take them seriously in this and other areas?!?

    *

Please. Again, that's just too fucked up. Maybe celebrities are as stupid and as shallow as they seem.

It's sad that it took Dr. Ryan's death for his charitable works to become public knowledge — but that's the way of people who have true charity in their hearts and give without considering how it may benefit their public image.

That said, it was almost as sad to see fame whore/plastic surgery dramedy Janice Dickinson displaying her "work" at the vigil last night; the nightmare that her face has become may just overshadow the doctor's actual and pure good works.

Re: boston61 – He had his beloved dog in the car; no caring person would risk taking his pet out that way. As an MD, he had plenty of meds to do the deed without putting his dog thru excrutiatingly painful injuries in a car crash.

More likely, he was either on his cell or had an MI or other cardiac issue related to his being winded from the physical activity of climbing the dune, or (ironically) the dog acted up or something else
    resulted in him losing control.

Texting while driving? Then the idiot deserved it.

I didn't see the body or perform the autopsy, but it seems it is rare for someone to die of "blunt force trauma" to the head if he was wearing a seatbelt; and that car had airbags. So, pending further information, I conclude he died for the same reason the Princess of Wales did: no seat belt.

Texting and paparazzi and drunken idiot driver (in Diana's case) incidental.

"He will be missed" seems an accurate statement, Perez; he had a pretty solid client base.

Re: whatafarce – Where do you get "texting while driving?"

True, the good doctor tw@tted (thanks Miss Kathy Griffin!) a few minutes before the crash — but he wasn't in the car; his dog was on the dune they'd just climbed.

"Part of his legacy will be the people he never treated – the people who never came into Beverly Hills."

    Yeah, okay. That was stupid.

Jesus Christ. The man was a cosmetic surgeon, not a heart surgeon who saved countless lives. Ridiculous.
