Lauryn Hill Makes Billboard Charts: First Time In 10 Years!

| Filed under: Music MinuteLauryn Hill

Okay, so 94 out of 100 isn’t great…but it’s a start!

Lauryn Hill has made her way back onto Billboard Charts for the first time in 10 years with her song Repercussions, which leaked online last month.

It’s a bit of a mysterious track, as it is unclear at this time if it’s a future release, or a previously unreleased track, but either way, it’s getting attention.

The last time Hill saw herself on Billboard Charts was in 1999 with her song Turn Your Lights Down Low, which hit #49 on the list.

Looks like she’s ready to start performing again. Hill recently performed at a New Zealand music festival in January, and she’s slated to perform at the “Rock the Bells” concert in L.A. this weekend.

Do U think it’s time for a Lauryn Hill comeback?

Yes it is time for a come back, no way that song is new. it has the miseducation of lauryn hill written all over it.

  2. 2

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! BRING HER BACK!!

  3. 3

she's the queen. I was just listening to her. She's one of the most talented and respected women ever. She makes me proud to be female.

  4. 4

Yes its time for her to come back. Show Nicki Minaj how it’s DONE! Lauryn is missed big time and her new song is so good. The woman is incredible and her voice sounds just as beautiful as it did 10 years ago. Just like the old Lauryn. AMAZING!

    I love it, but I agree withRe: markho – I don't think it's new.

  6. 6

No, who the he'll missed her ?

  7. 7

She is a racist! I will never support her music! Thankfully I'm not missing out on anything b/c, from what I hear, she isn't very good!

  8. 8

    so its alright for her
not christina aguilera. who also took a long break?

  9. 9

YES YES YES She has the voice of an angel. She should release songs like Timberlake did with Hallelujah, she will be on top again in no time. I will buy anything she does. Love you bb!

This sounds great but what markho and michellep21 said, i don't think it's new either. probably a track that wasn't included in the miseducation of lauryn hill. but i do agree it's definitely time for a comeback.

    Yes, it is time.

I read some horrible remarks she made a decade ago. She ought to remain in obscurity. She had one successful cover and one successful solo song 10-12 years ago. She hasn't worked since. She isn't horribly special. She just needs some ca$h. I say we don't give it to her.

Oh… and, correction, Perez. That would be #94 on the R&B charts — far, far away from a major chart appearance. Her last "solo" single was released in 1999, but that doesn't mean she didn't plaster herself into "featuring" positions since. "Turn Your Lights Low" was a collaboration with Wyclef in 1999 — but she's been credited 4 times since, most recently with Method Man in 2006, which charted on the R&B charts.

Oh great, a racist on the billboard charts.

  20. 20

I LOVE Laryn Hill, I don't care how racist she is, her voice is amazing

  21. 21

I would LOVE a Lauryn Hill comeback, I don't care how racist she is. Her voice is amazing

  22. 22

WOW. This is what i called good music. RNB needs to take notice

  23. 23

I hate this RACIST bitch! She is so overrated anyway. I'm glad the world took notive over her comments and punished her for being so ignorant.
GO AWAY FOREVER YOU PSYCHOTIC RACIST

It sounds like an old song that she probably just recorded. The verses definitely sound like something off the miseducation of Lauryn Hill but the chorus is completely new and doesnt sound like anything she did on MoLH.
