When asked about her latest outing, she said:
“I went out to dinner with three friends after Larry King. One of my friends who is gay is sitting there with another friend who is black, and he looks up and says, ‘I wonder what the media would do with this? You're with a black guy and a gay guy.’ We laughed, because we all understand what this is really about — censoring a point of view.”

Dr Laura made a mistake……..Perez you have made many! You need to take a look in the mirror my friend. Dr Laura has helped many people and although I do not always agree with her, she has done so much good. What have you done? Create a website to defame and humiliate people? Ok i do admit it is entertaining and fills some of my empy moments of the day but you hurt more than you help. I think we all could use a little more tolerance, including yourself!

Do these people really not know what the First Amendment says? It says the government cannot censor your speech. Last I looked, the government has done nothing to her. The First Amendment does not guarantee that people won't say mean things about you. If it did, this website would be shut down.

For someone who talked about the caller being too sensitive and over reacting to a word, she sure is over reacting and being uber sensitive about this whole tempest in a teapot. The press always grabs for this kind of faux sensationalism stuff and blows it totally out of proportion. Her show is probably way UP in the ratings now. I have my own reasons for not liking Dr. Laura. Her damn book! But, never mind that. I heard part of the conversation on a TV newscast and she went a little too far. I've been pissed at her every since her mom was found dead on her floor in her home years ago. They had to scrape the poor woman up. I've seen pictures of her mother and she was beautiful. Seems like mom and daughter did not get along. Anyway I don't agree with how she handled this caller. I do not like racism at all. But, she is tough on most of the women that call in. Sometimes I would cringed just hearing how she talked to women. I once had something on my mind and my husband said give her a call. I told him when hell freezes over! This was a couple years ago. I told him i can be a bad arse too! She is just plain rude! JMHO!

The point she was trying to make was that you can't censor a word for one race and not for another. It's fine for a black person to say the n-word but for anyone else it's off limits (in which the meanings are practically opposite). That doesn't work… Part of eliminating racism is to eliminate the division. Things like this are what make others feel like they need to tip toe around other races and that is a huge part of the problem because it just makes it uncomfortable for either side.
With all that said, she still did a very stupid thing. At the end of the day it's an offensive word and she needs to stop trying to excuse herself. At least she did apologize though… but she needs to own up to it and move on.

He thought it was hilarious how infuriated I would get at her anti-gay, anti-working-mother, anti-everybody-who-doesn't-agree-with-her rants.
