Lindsanity's Adderall Abuse
Although Lindsay Lohan has been prescribed Adderall for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, doctors at UCLA believe that she has been misdiagnosed.
According to Dr. Joe Haraszti, people who don't need the medication but take it anyway experience the same effects as cocaine or meth.
One may have manic symptoms that can leave to "driving around until all hours of the morning … smoking heavily … tweeting … and texting all night long," added Haraszti. "They can become very impulsive."
And it's not unusual to them to take Ambien or a sleep aid to get to bed at night! And alcohol abuse is even common for those who take Adderall.
"The Adderall counteracts the sedative side effects of alcohol use … making these people often drink more than someone who does not take the drug," said Dr. Marc Kern.
We're sure all this is true, but Lindsanity knew what she was doing. She wanted to stay skinny and not sleep! And what about those meth reports?!

There was NO MEHT you fool. It was the adderall that everyone was talking about all along. Adderall is The combination of dextroamphetamine and amphetamine. Some were making a mistake and saying it was a methamphetamine, then, cutting it short, calling it METH. get it MORON. She was not on METH. IF she was MARIO/PEREZ, and addicted to it, she would NEVER have been able to last 2 weeks in jail without having withdrawal symptoms, THEN go on to rehab for another 21 days without withdrawal symptoms. THINK, IF YOU ARE ABLE! NO METH FOR WEEKS-IT WOULD SHOW!!!!!!!!

How does someone know what they are doing when they are under the effects of a medication they shouldn't have been on that effects thinking? Do you think you know more than a doctor? Being misdiagnosed and given meds you shouldn't can cause a lot of problems. Hope she gets better to prove you wrong than sue you for defamation.
I have friends who say Im gona get adderall so i can loss weight. They go to the doctor say the can't concentrate and they get it. Its that easy. Drug addicts know how to work the system its what they do (lie.)

There was no "meth" and you are horribly irresponsible in posting that. If a doctor told her she was ADHD why would being an adult mean "she should have known better." Are you saying she should have told the doctor he was wrong?

So we shall see when she is out of jail, if adderall and a "misdiagnosis" is her whole problem then she should be fine and act normally. No more staying out all hours of the night every night (they claim the meds make her do it) or public outbursts, or looking stoned out of her mind all the time. If she is still like that, then what is her excuse gonna be?
First of all, everything said in this article is a load of shiz. I have had ADHD since I was 10 yrs old and took dexadrine, dextrostat and adderall. None make you impulsive. They actually make you calm and collected. The hyperactivity issue can be controlled. Again, these drugs do not make you imulsive, they instead control your impulses. Whomever keeps saying that doesn't know anything about ADD/ ADHD and should shut their mouth because your giving people like Lindsay Lohan an excuse to be the way that she is. I have lots of other successful friends who had ADD or ADHD and are percectly fine. She should stop exploiting the disease and blaming her behavior on the medicine. She sounds bi-polar and unstable… and seems like a really good actress when she needs to be. So please stop blamming adderall and man up. Pathetic…

Maybe you are off your meds because it doesn't look like you understood the article. People who have adhd do better on the medication aderall people who don't have adhd do worse on the medication. You were correctly diagnosed that's why the meds are working for you.
In most cases I would think that Lindsay paid a doctor to diagnose her with a condition so she can get prescription drugs to abuse, but not in this case considering how much ADHD is overly diagnosed. I still remember when I was a little kid and I use to always throw temper-tantrums and a doctor at a hospital said I had ADHD, which I clearly didn't, and gave me Adderall, which, because I didn't need it, gave me an adverse reaction.
Plus they snort it and that intensifies the experience. I was fired from a very famous celebrity's company because I refused to get a prescription in my name for the individual. So happy to be out of the INSANE world of entertainment, spoiled adults who have no grip on reality.

I CALLED THIS SHIt. When you suffer from ADHD adderall isn't supposed to make you hyper and impulsive, on the contrary!!!!! If you take adderall and have the disease all you want to do is stay home, study and read books. Besides it makes you sleepy and a bit tired. Alcohol, drugs and partying seem like stupid habits all of sudden.
That is so sad …. and another dr. who should be taken to task over medicating and misdiagnosing their patient.
I've said this from the beginning!! Adderall has the OPPOSITE effect on people who actually NEED it!!! I'm sure she went and TOLD her Doctor she had ADD/ADHD and they prescribed it without any proof… That way she could get high "legally"… She NEEDS to stay IN rehab the FULL time, and THEN go for outpatient treatment…

Adderall is an Amphetamine. It is used to help people concentrate and stop being so impulsive.
It can in fact make you lose weight, because you lose your appetite when you are on it.

I hope she figures out at some point that she might be able to deal with any brain issues with non-drugs means. Dr. Frank Lawlis is a psychologist who works with Dr. Phil and has a clinic dealing with ADD and many other disorders and uses drugs as a LAST resort as opposed to a first and if you do need some meds, sounds like he has the goal of getting you off them instead of being on them…forever. Medicine is an art, NOT a science and with the brain…they really don't know what they're doing…it's a crap shoot as to what drugs to take for what. Consumer Reports just did a study saying that for mild to moderate depression, placebos worked the same as psych meds UNTIL the patients found out they were placebos and then they no longer worked. The power of the mind!
Call me cynical, but I think that if she was really misdiagnosed it was because she went into the doctors office and played the part. She is an actress after all.
