PEREZcious thought!

After the last Harry Potter film hits movie theaters, would it be a good idea to come out with a weekly, one-hour TV show on one of the major networks based on the boy wizard?

Would U watch????

It could make lots of $$$$ and get big ratings, if done right!

i think i would watch but i could get lame and then ill stop

  2. 2

i think i would but it could get lame then id stop watching

  3. 3

No, I think it would be lame and none of the bigger stars would appear in it.

  4. 4

I hope you didn't come up with that idea yourself…one of the stupidest things I have heard in a long time. Please don't say this to anyone else.

  5. 5

    YES

  6. 6

no, perez. that's an awful idea. the movie ends when they are all boring adults.

  7. 7

If that was your idea, you're an idiot.

  8. 8

Yesssssssssssssss! But only if it followed him after the plots of the books had taken place, no prequel stuff.

  9. 9

    i will definitely watch it .. I LOVE HARRY POTTER AND I LOVE U ..!! :D

  10. 10

It wouldn't work and would ruin the story of Harry.
The books ended where they did for a reason.
As much as I would love to see it, it's not possible.
Besides, it wouldn't even be Daniel, Emma, Tom, and the rest of the cast, because the books end when everyone's kids go to Hogwarts together.

  11. 11

Let's be realistic, pig-vomit. If you thought it up, it's got to be a failure. Why, just this year alone we have :
Assisted Living - universally panned & aborted after a few episodes.
Goss n Sass - lasted one episode.
The Boy Band For the Next Generation - who's heard of that lately?
Travis Garland - isn't he busking in a bus station or something?
Rocket to Uranus - the video that was going to conquer the world - NOT!

  12. 12

    Hell Yeah!

  13. 13

i would watch it…not if you had anything to do with it though

  14. 14

nope, p….I love you but this idea is a no-go. love love

  15. 15

    no.
    just NO.
    Fuck you, Perez.

  16. 16

    I'd definately watch it!!

  17. 17

yeah, that's actually a pretty good idea, perez! i think it would be successful. I'd watch.

  18. 18

noooooo…you cant make a hp show if its not based on one of the books. it would just be madness. wait until jk writes some sequels (only a matter of time..)

  19. 19

    No it's an awful idea.

  20. 20

Do you have any idea how desperate this sounds?

  21. 21

Oh my… just stop destroying those characters and those books!! They turned them into a stupid teen soap in different pictures.
    And now a show????

  22. 22

First off, I have read the comments for this post and wow. You know what I find hilarious? People who throw so much negative energy at perez, yet you are STILL ON HIS WEBSITE. How does that make sense? It doesn't. I'm not going to get into the psychological issues those people have…since, well…why would I want to?

Anyways back to the question that was asked. Perez, this could either go in a really good way or a really bad way. The bad would be if they allowed someone other than JK Rowling do write for the show and such, as even if they had their best writer, I doubt they would be able to envoke the "fantasy" of JK Rowlings world. Now if she did agree to do it, it would clearly be amazing. No matter if she did a prequel, sequel or whatever. As for the actors from the movies staring in the tv show? I could speak for myself when I say, I wouldn't care who stared in it, as long as they did they role the justice it deserves.

  23. 23

Well, I wouldn't the characters or the storyline to get too fucked up, and it would cost a lot to make the scenes and special effects and have suitable actors, but being such a big Potter fan, I know I'd still watch it, just to get my fix.
But I think more time could be spent on encouraging kids to keep reading the books, rather than watching them in all sorts of ways.

  24. 24

I would sure check it out.

The problem is that they would use different actors and the orginial cast would be a hard act to follow.

There is so much money that goes into each Harry Potter movie and the weekly shows would not be able to follow the quality of the previous ones.

  25. 25

wouldnt watch if it wasnt the original characters… but they finish school so where would it go… be a wizard soap opera

  26. 26

sounds like a cash cow idea, unfortunatley jk rowling would NEVER let it happen. she's a total control freak when it comes to her intellectual property. that's why universal made the harry potter films- disney passed on them when they realized that rowling wouldn't give them very much of the creative control.

just making the theme park was a nightmere, universal couldn't even make harry potter socks without rowling signing off on every detail. sometimes it would be things like, "i don't think there's enough sparkle in dobby's eyes….fix it"

  27. 27

Only if you play the part of the gay wizard that everyone hates.

  28. 28

Maybe a cartoon series for younger children as well, my 8 year old loves Harry Potter.

  29. 29

did someone hack your website or something?

  30. 30

Re: Billiam Weckett – Well said!

  31. 31

WTF.That's the most idiotic thing I've heard this month.

  32. 32

if done right i would totally watch it!

  33. 33

    NO

  34. 34

Don't think it would work since no more books have been written and I'm sure J.K Rowling wouldn't be doing the writing. Also most people wouldn't be accepting of a new cast because there is no way the big stars would do it.

  35. 35

It's not going to be the original cast…
    So i won't watch it.

And everyone else. You guys are so rude.
Seriously, don't comment his blogs if your going to just make him feel like shit.
Your the ones that are taking YOUR time to comment his blog.

  36. 36

I've been saying for years that they should make the books into a cartoon series (a good one like Avatar the Last Airbender) that way we can see the potter world as JK imagined it. One Series per book so we don't miss anything like the movies did!

  37. 37

Maybe the could pick up and follow their kids through school. That might be interesting.

  38. 38

I don't think people would watch that.
Bieber Reality TV- hell yeah. I don't like him, but 4 million people do and then about another 20 million- don't.
Or Twilight TV- sucks enough already- why not make more money from it?

  39. 39

Ohh no, this is an awful idea! Television series always ruin the good films, those Aladdin programmes on the Disney channel were crap! No!

  40. 40

    Yes.
But only if JK Rowling wrote the storyline.
And they didn't have shitty actors.

  41. 41

Something similars been done years ago.. useless it was

  42. 42

Re: Miss Mac – I agree. That'd be the best way to do it I think.

  43. 43

Only if they have the original cast. But I don't think it would be a good show, seeing as J.K. Rowling's plot is amazing and cannot be duplicated. What sort of problems could they encounter? And besides, they all left Hogwarts.

  44. 44

Hmm… Is a certain gossip blogger looking to produce a TV show?

  45. 45

Im a big Potter fan…but seriously? That would be horrendous! It would completely ruin it and JK Rowling would never allow it, because it would just spoil the whole story so much!

  46. 46

i think the books end at such a good spot (before the epilogue) that it would be hard to add on to it and make it good, you couldn't go back to change the series, and if you probably can't add on to the epilogue without it ruining harry potter and being somebody else completely in some weird sitcom or something, and you wouldn't be able to get the real actors probably because they're moving on and want to do more things than harry potter.
so i really dont understand this idea, but from the looks of it, it wouldn't work.

  47. 47

If its really done good then it will an awesome tv show, if they follow the book that it is

  48. 48

It would be really lame, leave the memories as is.

  49. 49

    bad idea, sorry.

  50. 50

It would get really lame, and I would stop enjoying Harry Potter.

  51. 51

No, because then you ruin it. Dumbass.

  52. 52

perez probably wants to cast himself as dumbledore.

  53. 53

JK Rowling would NEVER sanction this and neither would WB. You're out of your mind if you think real potter fans would watch anything that wasn't given a stamp of approval from JKR and/or WB. However even if they did I know most of them would never watch anything you were involved in, please find another fandom to pollute. We have our Podcasts and music, we don't need your crappy television show. thanks but no thanks.

  54. 54

NO. J.K Rowling created a truly magical world and it would suck to have someone else come in and butcher it. Because let's be honest, that WOULD be the result.

  55. 55

I would totally watch that… as long as it wasn't cheesy. But they already told the entire story, what would it be about?

  56. 56

YES i would watch it I LOVE harry potter

  57. 57

I Would Watch it SO MUCH :D Unless They Made Harry Potter Look WHACK . But If it Was Cool, I Would Make Like EVERYONE Watch it, (:

  58. 58

What the hell are you talking about? This is one of the most random things you have posted.

  59. 59

stupid stupid idea. the harry potter books were planned out, you cant just add to that. the story arc is finished. we dont want to follow harrys kids adventures because the big bad is defeated. and a tv show wouldnt have the budget for that sort of cgi. moronic idea.

  60. 60

No. Harry Potter is great how it is. No overkill!

  61. 61

    YEEEES!

and no. because it might take away whats special about harry potter and pppl would get sick of it.

i think itd be better off left as movies. bc tv shows are takin too far

  62. 62

Mario anything with the word "boy" to you is a good idea. However, if you are the pioneer behind it - epic failure.

  63. 63

Everyone saying "YES" to this idea obviously has never read the books…and obviously Perez has never read the books either because when the book ends Harry is no longer a 'boy-wizard', idiot.
    Worst. Idea. Ever.

  64. 64

Re: weRone – Wow I'm impressed with you assessment. Go gobble a bag of cocks.

  65. 65

your joking right? thats just lame.

  66. 66

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! LEAVE HARRY POTTER ALONE! LEAVE HIM ALONE! THEY ARE GONA KILL HIM!

  67. 67

If they made a show of Harry Potter, it wouldnt be that bad right?

  68. 68

Or not… worst idea I've heard in a while tbh

  69. 69

A cartoon I would. Always said it. If it were like Scooby Doo. No harm in it, not like it's gonna be cannon.

  70. 70

It'd only be good if it were a cartoon. Then they could make it awesome and explore short story lines in the spirit of the characters- and not worry about actors.

  71. 71

No, it would never work. The stories and adventures couldn't be made into a tv series, and it JK Rowling would never allow for writers to make up their own plots.
    Nope, not going to happen.
    Like, ever.

  72. 72

Nah, thats just milking it. It would turn into Sabrina all over again. Thinking up of new plots each episode. Nah…

  73. 73

That's the dumbest fucking idea I have ever heard in my life. Way to ruin a multi-generational phenomenon. What the fuck.

  74. 74

no. especially if they let you americans anywhere near it. its ended, finished. Lets end on a high with 7 reasonably good films(im guessing the 7th film prt 1 & 2 are gunna be good) and 7 great books.

  75. 75

    you're an idiot

  76. 76

I actually think this is a tremendous idea. The movies only have alittle more than 1/4 of the book in them. A series would be allow the other story lines to come out, and they could be more true to the books than the movies.

  77. 77

    hell yeah..I love Harry Potter

  78. 78

    NO, NO, NO.

  79. 79

probably not a good idea, UNLESS it has all the original cast members haha and you know how that goes, not enough moola. But you want to have the lasting feeling of this series, not a continual bad shows to fix our memory of this. you know what though??? they should have an official show for the harry potter puppet pals!!!! omfg that would be epic.

  80. 80

the idea has always been there u fool perez….the books are crazy successful and so are the movies .. ur such a moron u would take credit for this…

  81. 81

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.

  82. 82

    BAD IDEA
    dont fuck with j.k's art

  83. 83

    NO NO NO! Absolutely not!!
As much as I love HP (I grew up with it and still cry at the end of a few of them), I do not think a HP TV show would do any good. The story is too complicated to sum up in a TV show and it would spoil the goodness and love put into the books by the magnificent Mrs. Rowling.

  84. 84

I have ALWAYS thought that this would be the way to go with the book series. Revamp it, no familiar faces, and the intricacy of the story lines can stay in place….GREAT idea. I'd watch.

  85. 85

NOOOOO it'll ruin it! I LOVE HARRY POTTER! BUT PLEASE DONT MAKE IT INTO TWILIGHT hyp, grosss.

  86. 86

Never. It would ruin the franchise. Let it end the way it was intended.

  87. 87

It might be fun to have available to watch, but I don't think they would be of good quality.

  88. 88

I really don't think that would work… the whole story of harry potter has already been told in the movies, and jk rowling would never want new material to be written for a tv show… she almost didn't allow the movies to be made because she wanted to make sure that the movies would only be based on what was written, and that the the companies didn't have the right to make up their own material for harry potter… therefore, either the show would be the movies, but broken up, and newly shot, or jk rowling wouldn't authorize the show to be made…

  89. 89

horrendous idea. after the films everyone should sit back and enjoy the books and movies and stop milking it. ever heard of overkill!?

  90. 90

I think a Potter show would ROCK, but it should be on HBO so it's done right, and not about Potter and gang. Maybe his and Ginny's kids.

  91. 91

I love me some Harry Potter but how could you possibly make anything HP work without daniel emma and tom? Would NOT watch a shitty spinoff!

  92. 92

don't listen to the haters, that's an awesome idea!!! harry potter is till going strong, look at the wizarding world of harry potter park!

  93. 93

yeah, we could watch some unknown actors take over the roles and do a shitty job and watch harry raise his kids and get old. GREAT idea.. not.

  94. 94

this is an absolutely TERRIBLE idea. don't get me wrong, i loove harry potter. i've read all the books more than twice, own and obsess over the movies. but a tv show? it's bound to be an epic fail.

  95. 95

    Stop having thoughts.
