Looks like tittays and gore are back in!

Well, let's be real - were they ever really out?

Piranha 3-D was such a smash with critics and viewers alike that Dimension Films has already greenlit a sequel!

Director Alexandre Aja and producer Mark Canton are already attached to return, and Canton says:

“We are thrilled that audiences are not just loving Piranha 3-D, but cheering for it. And it’s fantastic that so many critics are really getting the movie and recommending it. We can’t wait to get to work on the sequel.”

Aja is apparently still coming up with concepts in which the prehistoric fishies return, and if it takes it in the direction we're thinking, then the second round will certainly NOT disappoint!

He reveals:

“We had many ideas, like the full moon party in Thailand — a huge event with like 200,00 young people from all around the world taking mushrooms and partying on the beach.”

Can you even IMAGINE the havoc that those guys would wreak? We want to see it right now!

Ha ha ha!

Amazing!

What do U think?? Do U want a sequel to Piranha 3-D??

    I want!
    It would be totally hot!!
And it didn't tank!! This is what this kind of movies make.

I went to see the film today. At first I thought it was going to be like a SyFy
Saturday night movie. I was wrong. It was fun to watch. I loved that Richard
Dryfus (know I spelled that wrong) played the same character in this film as he did in Jaws 1. And they did leave it open ended for a sequel. Because we still have the parent fish to deal with. I would like to know how they will get rid of them. ANd as rebelde said these type of movie make money.

I liked it. Beach, booze, bikinis, and fish that eat people. Fun, mindless quasi-retro summer fare. An entertaining alternative to the "serious films" out there.

Awesome movie, the best of the summer! And it didn't tank; it made half it's production cost in three days. I'll be there opening weekend for the sequel. I just hope they shoot it in 3D and not convert it, because the 3D elements would be so much better that way.

    It's a movie for folks who can't decipher between its and it's. :p :D

Great! Saw Piranha 3D the other day and it was brilliant and very gory! lol!

I notice the pic of Kelly Brook underwater with the piranha looking at her is not even in the film and she dies in a much different way on the film! Maybe that shot was an outtake? Bizarre they used it seeing as it's not in the film.

Would love to see a sequel with the huge adult piranha that you see at the end of this one! Can't wait!!

A huge hit with critics and audiences? It opened at 6th place. The New York Times called it "ugly". I saw it opening day at a matinee in Savannah, GA. I was one of four people in the audience. It felt like the longest 90 minutes of my life.
