Zacquisha Starring In Another Snoozer?

| Filed under: Film FlickersZac Efron

Zac Efronand Taylor Schilling will star in the Warner Bros’ adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' novel, The Lucky One.

The story is about a Marine (Efron) who served in Iraq and believes the good luck he had throughout is due to a photograph he carried of a woman (Schilling) he’s never met. When he finishes serving in Iraq, he sets out to find the woman in the US.

Sigh. Other than the fact that Zac will be in uniform, this movie sounds boring.

Why can’t they just make College Musical?!

i think him and vanessa should do another movie together.

Well, it's Nicholas Sparks so we all know how it will end - either he will die, or she is already dead. And he'll only figure that out after he's fallen in love with her picture while searching all over the US to find her.

  3. 3

Hey, Perez, why don't you read the book first?!
Nicholas Sparks is THE best author out there and Efron (though I don't like him) will fit perfectly for the male lead.

  4. 4

Probably not going to be the breakout see I really am a serious actor role he has been trying to get. Souinds like a pretty swtupid premise for a book or a movie.

Zac is a total chick magnet. I want perfectly messy hair a suit with matching skinny tie! My friend Erica loves him, so check her out on MINUTE TO WIN IT tonight at 8/7c and hope she wins the $1 million prize so Zac will notice her! haha but seriously

Hey Perez, try READING the book before you comment it's going to be a sleeper! My b/f sent me the book while he was in Iraq so we could read it at the same time. It's GOOD and those who like Sparks' novels will surely see the movie. I realize you probably don't spend much time reading, but maybe you should try it once in awhile. ;-)

actually this might not be too bad. the book was decent..and its easy to work with (kinda like the notebook & walk to remember) so provided the get a good script writer this might not be too bad

if anyone here has read the book, they'd know that he is FAR TOO YOUNG to play this role.

  9. 9

SUCH a good book! It is classic Nicholas Sparks but there can never be too much of him :) Not a huge fan of Efron but I think he'd be good for this role, so long as he doesn't break out into a dance number.

The one with his dead brother looks sooooo lame

Wow what a surprise, you think that the movies gonna suck. Probably because you don't read anything other than tabloid magazines that have your face in them. Maybe you should take some time to sit down and read a book other than Twilight. Then maybe you would understand why Nicholas Sparks has had so many of his books turned into movies, because his books are absolutely amazing.

I loved The Lucky One, but I'm not sure about Zac in this role.

  13. 13

BORING! The plot doesn't sound remotely entertaining at all.

  14. 14

Boring they need to stop putting him such serious movies. How about a comedy or something he is still young!

  15. 15

    Re: kaylask – agreed

  16. 16

I don't think anybody would believe him as a marine. He should play a gay character who goes around shirtless throughout the entire movie. THAT I'd pay to see. This? No

  17. 17

    it sounds okay
and by the way…there is a College Musical being made…
just not by the same director/producers (no disney)
it was originally a youtube spoof for HSM

The novel is great. Not a total snoozefest (yes Perez read the book first) but Zac is not a suitable role. Channing was casted perfect on Dear John. How about Ryan Gosling instead? Zac is too young for this role. Taylor Schilling, is a good cast for the love interest.

  19. 19

Re: llovely – EXACTLY!!! I AGREE WITH EVERTHING YOU SAID!!!!!! Zac is definitely not rugged or old enough for the part. I just can't see him it this at all. Channing Tatum was perfect for Dear John! I love Nicholas Sparks books!

This was a really good book to read it had excitement and ill tell u something no ones dies who u think would die. Zac Efron would be perfect to play the part however that Taylor girl looks way to old to play her character. we will see how it goes.

This movie is going to bomb pretty badly—whether or not the producer sticks to the original storyline from the novel. Its going to be another Charlie St. Cloud-type movie with the characters and situations changed around a bit and the theme of death planted somewhere in there. Nicholas Sparks sucks, and his novels are stories that would best be made into TV movies for the Lifetime channel. The truth is that Zacquisha has fans in only two camps: younger gay men and 'tween girls, and neither group showed up in numbers to support him at the box office for Charlie St. Cloud. This movie will not be any different. I can already smell the flames of failure.
