    Re: Mergers – It actually DOES make a difference how the mother behaves. If someone treats you like shit, then it's only natural that you treat them like shit back. It's actually the HEALTHY thing to do. I know people say "take the high road"….but that's a load of BS. Taking the high road all the time will cause a lot of internal anxiety and depression and turn the rage internally instead of externally. People (and animals, btw) CANNOT be treated like shit repeatedly and expected to take the high road. It's a concept that is completely VOID in practice. In fact, most people who advocate "taking the high road" are incapable of taking this same road themselves. I'm sure Frances loves her mom (and vice versa), but Courtney is a very fucked up and narcissistic woman and I bet Frances has felt the brunt of that most of her life. So I can understand her.

    "if there was ever a person to avoid it, she would be our pick" should be "if there WERE ever a person to avoid it, she would be our pick."
