She truly is just wonderful!

Our beloved cutie pie Taylor Swift has reportedly donated $100,000 to her hometown - Hendersonville, TN - to help aid victims in the area who are recovering from the recent floodings!

Town spokesperson Dave LeMarbre says:

"It's overwhelming. We didn't expect that. We appreciate Taylor's donation as well as all the others who have stepped up."

Her contribution will be used to build a new playground in the town!

How unbelievably compassionate!

We're sure that money is appreciated more than you could ever realize, bb!

Her hometown is Wyomissing , PA where she was born and raised

  2. 2

She was born and raised in Wyomissing PA not Tennessee

  3. 3

$100.000 is all that Taylor Swift can donate? I owe more money in school loans. who is she kidding?

  4. 4

  5. 5

she lives there now, my trainer's parents live in her neighborhood

  6. 6

Big fucking deal! As if she's the only celebrity to give money to TN! Guess what? So did LeAnn Rimes who you never have anything positive to say about

  7. 7

yeah so did like 50 other celebs… not just her

  8. 8

she really could have given more for the amount of money she has… Plus her family was already rich before she got famous. So its like 100 grand is nothing really.

  9. 9

A lot of stars gave money to Nashville, but Taylor is the only one to make a big donation to Hendersonville. We are all very grateful for the money to rebuild our park, it is a very generous gift.

  10. 10

She's lived in Tennessee long enough to call it her hometown! I was born and raised in Japan but I don't consider that my hometown.. I call LA my hometown since I've live most of my adolescent life there. But besides arguing about whether or not TN is her hometown.. who the hell cares?! The point of this post is to show how Swift has donated money to a town that needs it. And at least she donates.. she's part of numerous charities so calm down about the actual amount she donated.

  11. 11

More celebs need to follow her and help out here instead of overseas.

  12. 12

if we all gave to our charities first , our economy wouldnt be in such bad shape. especially with places like new orleans, take care of our own first. let the rich rich celebs take care of foreign countries, since they like giving them their money while they are filming movies overseas, bastards

  13. 13

    Wyomissing is her hometown

  14. 14

Seriously people? You give shit to Taylor for donating 100k and say it should have been more. How the hell much do you think she should give, 1mill?! She gives to WAY MORE charities than this one. I've seen her donate up to 500k to a charity. So stfu and maybe you give a little to charity. You can afford a little bit but I bet you don't do shit about it, look in the damn mirror at yourself for once and focus on yourself not how other people don't do enough!

  15. 15

This is not the only donation Taylor has given to Hendersonville recently. This one was just earmarked for the rebuild of the city's most popular children's playground. She's done a lot for Hendersonville and like another poster said, many celebs have given to Nashville but she is the only one thus far to give directly to our city (And there are a good number of other celebs in this town - Oak Ridge Boys, Diamond Rio, Marty Stuart, Gary Allen, and Young Buc to name just a few). We are all very appreciative of her support. She also gives without making a big deal about it. The only reason this is news is because the city is talking about it, not Taylor. We love you, girl.

  16. 16

That is not her hometown!! She is not from the south, she is not a "country girl". She is from good old PA, same as me.

  17. Fia says – reply to this

I grew up in SoCal, but Hendersonville, TN is my hometown where I currently live. Taylor already gave to Nashville right after the floods here, and this is a second contribution. She is a classy gal, and I'd rather claim Taylor than Miley any day!

  18. 18

Why does Perez have to be totally UP her ass? "How unbelievably compassionate" lol….I'm glad that Taylor Swift tries to help out other people….but let's not pretend that building a playground is tremendous thing…she's not Mother Teresa, Perez!

  19. 19

She can afford 10 times that. So could the rest of these so-called humanitarians who give "generously".

  20. 20

What the hell, why doesn't she try and make a difference by sending money to those who ACTUALLY need it!? Like….um…maybe…Pakistan is just a thought…where over SEVENTEEN MILLION people have been affected. She's a racist redneck. You never see her helping out anyone else but her own fellow racist country loving rednecks.

  21. 21

Painting an entire town with the broad brush of calling us all "racist rednecks" is vile. I would think you wouldn't want someone to make generalizations of you because of where you live, either. Taylor lives here. Her parents live and work here. We are honored that she chooses to give back to a place that she cares about in so many ways. As a previous poster said, this isn't the first time she's done something to improve our town, and any gift she chooses to give is welcome and appreciated.

  22. 22

Re: Fia – some of you people don't seem to know what a "hometown" is

  23. 23

I know giving back is good, and Taylor Swift is nice and all… but why does this have to televised? I mean, there are many people who help others and they do not want publicity! Come on taylor, why the Publicity stunt? it's like: "ohh look, I'm a celebrity, I donated some money, everybody will praise me!!!"

from my point of view (just an opinion!!), I think taylor is becoming boastful and wants the camera in front of her face 24/7

  24. 24

Re: scoutfinch – Yeah fair enough, I didn't mean to call your town that. Yes she has given back many times to her hometown and there is NOTHING wrong with that. But what about extending that to helping those who a FAR FAR less privileged than those in her hometown, like Pakistan?

  25. 25

…She's from Wyomissing PA. When you've lived somewhere over half your life, it's your hometown. Maybe she could consider giving money to her REAL hometown, where the money could be used to help kids stay out of gangs, keep guns out of the street and help stop hunger and poverty. But I'm sure calling Hendersonville her hometown is much more publicity-friendly for a country star than Wyomissing.

  26. 26

    Re: Gagaloo100 – thank you…meee toooo!

  27. 27

    Re: ScoutB – well said:)

  28. 28

Good for her, she's so sweet :)

  29. 29

In my opinion, many, many of you need to reprioritize. Who the hell are you to say where Taylor should spend her money, how much she should spend, etc? Whether she spent it here, overseas, in her hometown, not in her hometown, $500 or one million, she is still donating money to help others. That's more than probably any of you have done. Taylor is taking money that she could have taken to buy something for herself, and giving it to other people. She's giving. It's generous. It would be generous if it were her or anyone else giving it. To hell with you and your political opinions and your desire for her to spend money in one place or another. It's not your decision. She gave money to help other people, and anyone's ridiculous views aside, that's pretty damn admirable.

  30. 30

Does it really matter where she calls her hometown? She's a good person with a really big heart. This isn't the first time she has donated big in town. She donated to several schools in the area. People need to lay off, whether you're a big fan or not, she's a person at the end of the day and she's one of the good ones!!

  31. 31

She may have grown up in PA, but Hendersonville is her home. That's where she has called home for at least the last seven years. It's where all of her friends are, it's where she went to high school, it's where her parents live…and she just recently got an apartment about 20 minutes away in Nashville. She has a love for Hendersonville. We underwent a lot of damage in that flood and we are extremely grateful for her donation, and all the others.

  32. 32

wow..no her home town is hendersonville TN
she went to ellis middle school and hendersonville highschool.(MY SCHOOL)
i've seen her at publics in her Pjs. haha(no joke)

  33. 33

uh she has an album coming out maybe she wants good press
