Guess what? Cheryl Cole doesn't have her cute little Newcastle accent anymore!

Friends close to the X Factor judge say that she has developed a distinct American accent after spending the summer in Hollywood.

And you know who is to blame for that, dontcha?! Effing Derek Hough! Her pal says:

"Cheryl has developed a slight American accent while she's been there but it's still a long way off sounding like she's not from Newcastle. Derek has been mocking her about a few phrases, and he also does a good impression of her voice now."

Ugh! How annoying!

Just one more reason to give up the charade! He's obviously ruining you!

  2. 2

    who gives a shit

  3. 3

Perez, now I am convinced you have a thing for Derek Hough. He annoys you so much. Wow our little Perez is in love!

  4. 4

I love her accent…it's so fucking cute.

  5. 5

    who?

  6. 6

Bitch needs to quit using the last name Cole. She's not married to Ashley anymore.

There is nothing cute about a Newcastle accent. It is horrible and very lower class. It isn't as bad as the scouse accent is but anything north of London is just awful. I remember once working in a little shop and a tradesman from up north came in asking for 4 candles…

Never heard a Newcastle accent before, since my family left England when I was 4 1/2, but DAMN, I would do anything for my old Rochdale accent back !
Well, I don't have a country accent, but still… there's no character or personality to American accents…

So sick of reading about these two famewhores! Who cares! Cheryl go back to the UK and take Gayface Hough with you!

  10. 10

    who the fuck?

  11. 11

WTF - Newcastle accent isn't lower class. rather be northern than a southern snob :)

  12. 12

I suppose we'll hear this famous accent when it comes to the judges houses section on Xfactor. After ignoring doctors pleas to stay in England Cheryl shall be shooting her part in LA with close friend Derek. Starting to wonder if she were really all that ill. Please keep her. She's vile and we don't want her back.

  13. 13

I'm pretty sure she still has her accent. She's proud of her accent so I don't think spending a little time with this dude is going to change it.

  14. 14

i grew up in Rhode Island, I have a very thick RI/boston accent. I moved out of state 12 years ago, I still have my accent. I can drop it when I'm thinking about it but if I'm tired or stressed or rushed it comes back instantly. I highly doubt a summer in America would make her drop hers.

  15. 15

She is cute, too bad she is white trash with all those nasty tattoos.

perez's story: ”Cheryl Cole doesn't have her cute little Newcastle accent anymore!”
the actual story: ”it's still a long way off sounding like she's not from Newcastle”
perez's story: ”she has developed a distinct American accent”
the actual story: ”Cheryl has developed a slight American accent”

perez, what the f*ck, seriously? the quote clearly states what happens and you're there making sh!t up

  17. 17

This story is BS. I've lived outside America for 5 years and still sound American. I don't have a British accent.

  18. 18

its kind of pathetic how shes putting on an american accent

  19. 19

Will you STOP calling her Cheryl Cole!

  20. 20

Good. Anything's better than that horrible Geordie accent.

  21. 21

Re: quorum – Or anything west. The west country accent is awful. I don't hate all Northern accents though.

  22. 22

spending the summer in America - i believe it was only 2 weeks.

  23. 23

As a person with the same accent, I can safely say it is not cute. It's annoying, and no one takes you seriously. Also, whenever I go down to London, no one can understand what I'm saying; you have to repeat yourself thirty times.

  24. 24

    LOLs!!

  25. 25

As a person with an accent that comes from a distinct and unique dialect, I don't find that "ruining her" in the LEAST. People throughout my life have remarked on my accent, have made me repeat certain words over and over again while they can laugh at it. If you can't laugh at yourself, then get over yourself.

  26. 26

i call bullshit on this. shes lived in the south for a good few years and her ex ashley was a londoner and she never lost the accent and all of a sudden being round him makes it change? doubt it

  27. 27

Re: quorum my bf is from the manchester area, and I disagree, Newcastle is horrible but the manchester area accents are far better and more interesting than the Southern ones

  28. 28

ok i really dont know who cheryl tweedy is and i really dont care that much BUT does anyone know anything about her purse??

  29. 29

Re: quorum – Agree, any strong northern or Birmingham accent sounds common and working class, middle classes from any area don't really have accents, however Cheryl is proud of her background and has worked very hard to get where she is, love her to bits and wish her all the best,as long as she's happy it's nobodys business!
