A Defect In Martin Short's Wife's Oxygen Tank May Have Contributed To Her Death

An oxygen tank malfunction may have possibly contributed to the death of Martin Short's wife Nancy Dolman.

Dolman, 58, who was suffering from cancer since 2007, passed away last week.

In the 911 call right before her death, a woman can be heard saying that the bed-ridden Nancy "is not breathing" and "she's going to die," before requesting an ambulance.

The woman goes on to tell the 911 operator that "This patient… was on oxygen, we had problems with the gauge here in the tank, she’s off oxygen."

At the time of her death, the woman said that Nancy was surrounded by people.

So sad.

Martin has been nominated for an Emmy for his role in the FX show Damages, but will not be in attendance at Sunday night's awards show.

We wish him and his family the best.

I got pissed off because other sites posted the details of the 911 call and it really doesn't need to be said or even repeated. Leave the Short family alone to grieve and stop with the nonsense of how she died. I highly doubt they want this stuff out there and people coming up to them and having to relive the intimate details….jmo but, this is just lower than low for such a highly respected family in the business.

Maybe it was he time to go. She did have cancer so the only thing keep her alive was an oxygen tank. Money can buy you all the doctors but not health. Not to be rude but everyone has their time and most of us find that hard to cope.

oxygen tanks are for comfort, not for primary oxygen use. most likely her time had come. leave the useless speculating alone, p, especially where you have no expertise and it's pure sensationalism.

Once again, trying to create a scandal off of a celebrity's tragedy. Its disgusting. Sometimes people just die because they are sick. I know it is hard for you to make money off of that…but that is just the way it is.

So sad for Martin Short and his family. He is so talented, and it's remarkable that he was in a 30 year marriage. More impressive than his professional achievements.

I don't know why they didn't have an oxygen concentrator. They concentrate the oxygen from the existing air, and never 'run out'. I am an oxygen patient, and keep tanks only in the case of electrical failure.

What is this tanks are for comfort?????? They are life giving. If you are an oxygen patient, you need additional oxygen support to LIVE, not for comfort.

God bless her and God bless her family. As someone who had to sit and watch a loved family member die agonizingly slowly and in good conscience (WTF was THAT about?) just had to let it go two weeks longer than it should have I can only wish we would have had an "equipment malfunction." Sometimes you're gone long before you're dead to this earth, why prolong suffering if there is no hope? Bless them all.

Re: Village I DON'T THINK SHE WAS GOING TO RUN AROUND THE MALL LOOKING FOR BARGAINS IF SHE HAD AN OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR. HER LIFE WAS DOWN TO DAYS. IT WAS OVER. SHE WAS DYING. SHE DIED SOONER RATHER THAN LATER. GOOD FOR HER. HAVE A GOOD WALK WITH YOUR OXYGEN AND PRAY YOU DON'T END UP WITH ONLY DAYS TO LIVE TELLING PEOPLE TO USE AN OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR TO STAY ALIVE AND SUFFERING A FEW MORE DAYS. FUCKTARD.

Just to add, perezhilton didn't post the entire 911 call that other sites did post. So, you don't know the WHOLE story which, if you heard, you wouldn't want to hear and I won't repost. It's just to graphic and though I don't think perez should have posted any of it, at least they didn't post it ALL! While you all are posting, please note, unless you have read the entire 911 call….you don't know the WHOLE story to this. To me, it SOUNDS, awful, tragic and sad. If anything, she's at peace now and may she rest in peace.

Re: Human Sushi Platter – Lovely composition, and agreed, unless the ill person still has a chance.

Just shut up, everybody. None of you know what really happened or how long she had to live. None of you know anything. Leave these poor people alone. To quote one of you, you're all "fucktards." This man just lost his wife of 30 years and his children their mother. Nobody needs you all dreaming up conspiracy theories or judging the situation. Wait ’til your turns come (and they will) and see how you like it.

Jeez, I'm not sure either, Perez, if there was a malfunction in her oxygen tank. But it doesn't matter - it's ok. Let's just post some rumours about this kind woman's death online anyways. It'll draw viewers and increase advertising. And that's really what it's about in Perez's world; everything's up for sale, nobody is untouchable, and who cares if a family is grieving, or if we print 5% truth, 10% truth, 50% truth..? So long as we just say "some sources say.." or "an insider reported that…", we can get away with any malicious drivel. Right? God I would not want to be you on Judgement Day. What have you contributed to a positive effect in the human race other than trade in shame, misery and failure?

Re: Lakshmi – Your message is the biggest 'fucktard' message I've read anywhere in a while, just saying. Yikes. Blog nazi. Don't READ it then.

Let family grieve in peace, this kind of speculation is just cruel,if the family was gathered and she was on oxygen the end was obviously near, let her rest in peace after much suffering.
I enjoy reading your posts but sometimes you go too far Perez!
