The people using the tired "gaga made more money than Madonna this year" seem to forget that Gaga was non stop touring, released an album, toured some more etc etc. Madonna has not done any of that (she had a bit of a tale off from the Sticky and Sweet tour on there but thats it) and still landed in the forbes top 10. Remember that whilst Gaga will make under 100 million from all her non stop touring (5 times more dates than Madonna does) yet Madonna's tour made close to half a BILLION.

Madonna also charged more for her tickets and played larger stadiums, and profited from the re-sell of tickets from scalpers. You do the math.
Madonna also released a compilation album, a tour DVD, profited from providing her songs to GlEE, did a profitable D&G ad campaign, and she has an extensive back catalogue of which she gets hefty royalties. Let's not pretend she just sits on her ass all day while making this money. She's always working.
If they both started at the same time in their careers, and were given the same opportunities, it would be fair to compare their wealth. Otherwise it's kind of silly and pointless to do so. That is why if this rumor of them touring were true, the tour would probably never make it past the first show. The GaGa and Madonna fans would just stand on opposite sides of the venues and just stare and hiss at each other.
I guess Porky's "newest pop sensation," SLIMEy wasn't available. Hey, here's an idea, pig face, maybe the "next newest pop sensation," your new boy-band, can open up for Madonna. GaGa may have toured endlessly and released an album, but what you don't get is she's a relatively new artist making this money and she's making more than a lot of established artists. She's also making this money at a time when music sales and concert attendances are at record lows. It's easy to scoff at someone's accomplishments when you're comparing them to Madonna, but try looking outside of that Madonna bubble every once in a while.
