This could be HUGE!

According to the Financial Times, Google is planning to launch a global paid movie service through YouTube by the end of the year. The movies would begin streaming in the US and cost $5 a piece.

"They've talked about how many people they could steer to this . . . it's a huge number," claims a source.

Inneresting.

    YES YES YES!

If they turn YouTube into NetFIX, as the title claims, maybe YouTube can fix everything that is wrong with the internet!

nope i would still pirate mine for free

$5 a piece to stream movies on YouTube? I pay $9 a month for Netflix and get, at least, one DVD a week plus thousands of movies to choose from to stream on my PS3. Why the fuck would I pay $5 for one movie to watch on YouTube?

I believe it is 5 dollars a MOVIE. i thought perez just had a major typo, but then i saw it again on another site. what a SCAM. totally, netflix. you can possibly get at least 4 movies sent out per month (i mean at least), if you take a week. and then instant movies for the win!!!!!!

I'd highly be against this!!! Google is trying to take over the internet, next thing they're going to do is monitor what it is you do, monitor what you are allowed to watch….oh wait? they're already doing that! Hope you all realize you're being profiled by google ;) dont believe me look it up

psh. hell no. if they do this and destroy the site anymore than they already have i'm done with youtube. it's hella slow now and the ads are ridiculous. i have netflix and it's ONLY $8.99 a month for hundreds of FREE instant streaming movies on my computer and xbox aaaaand the movies they don't have available for streaming you can get through the mail (which come within a day or two and you can keep for however long).

I don't think people are gonna go for 5 bucks a pop.

  13. 13

not for five dollars. i have netflix. and if i "need" to see something that netflix doesn't stream, i can just walk down to the nearest Red Box (which is half a block) and rent it for $1.29

  14. 14

Yeah 5 dollars each is not a very great deal!!

  15. 15

5 dollars a movie?! Ha! I'll stick with my Netflix, thanks.
