Another Grey's Anatomy And Private Practice Crossover On The Way

Wow! A little early in the season to have to incorporate a crossover episode into the mix, don't you think??

They must be running out of ideas!

Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice will once again be mixing worlds, according to series creator Shonda Rhimes, with Derek Shepherd's sister Amelia, played by Caterina Scorsone, hitting up Seattle Grace to check in on a post-shooting McDreamy!

Rhimes explains:

"Amelia goes to visit Derek in the third episode of Grey's. Derek got shot and he hasn't been returning her phone calls. He's never returned her phone calls. What I love about the episode is that it really illuminates Derek. Remember, Derek's father was shot when they were kids - something that both Amelia and Derek witnessed. And for both of them, Derek's shooting brings up all these memories of that. And you also get to see the two Shepherd neurosurgeons operating together, which I think is kind of badass."

Okay, we'll admit it! It DOES make sense in the context of the story and doesn't just seem like a ratings ploy!

But we're still weary of you, Grey's! We hope you keep that momentum from your kick-ass season finale going!

Thoughts??

I think it's great… I mean, we knew she would eventually do a crossover and I'm glad they're doing it sooner rather than later! This part of the story needed to be explained and I am looking forward to this episode!
