He says:

i agree with him…she's an okay singer with mediocre songs…all of her songs sound the same and have the same chord progression and she wears the same kind of clothes with the same stupid ringlets in her hair…there is nothing new or original about her…
Except that he has a point. She's beautiful/cute and writes great songs, but vocally she has not impressed me when hearing her live. It's funny how bias works… if he were talking about an artist you didn't like, you'd be all over that agreeing with him.

Sorry, but I have to agree. Every time I've seen her perform live at an awards show she appears awkward and a little uncoordinated up on stage. Also, she always sounds off-key to me. She is cute, but I don't find her overly talented!

Taylor Swift's performance at the Grammys was a broadcasted display that her voice is far from good. It was sheer agony to see it and it's not the only example of her voice failing at a live-event.

I went and watched the Black Crowes twice after they first "made it". Chris Robinson was so drunk (or stoned) that he couldn't remember half the lyrics. Also, their best song was a remake of an Otis Redding song. That being said, her voice is a bit weak.

I agree with the majority here who say that she really isn't as talented as the marketing executives want us to believe she is. As someone else has said, she's a product not an artist. I only disagree about one thing being said here and that's her writing ability. I personally doubt that she writes most of her songs herself either. Basically she's a pretty little girl and unfortunately in our shallow world that's all it seem to take.

She is not "talented songwriter," either. All of her music is ghostwritten by a VERY well-known songwriter in Nashville. Who happens to live right across from me. Everyone knows it. Everyone. She can't sing. She can't write. And she did not "willingly" donate money to the floods in Nashville. She was chided into doing it on local TV by Vince Gill who actually laughed at her first donation and said "Ha. She spends that on her hair in one hour." 30 minutes later, she had suddenly upped her donation. No one here can stand her - she has to try to buy affection because she has ZERO talent.
I think she writes great songs for her age, she isn't great live, but at least she looks like she bathes…..Chris Robinson!!! P.S. She Talks to Angels is one of my favorite songs of all time!

A lot of 17 year olds and up love her music. Live not so good. But to say she has no talent is rude on his part. She writes all of her own music and does play the guitar. So she does have some talent.
Taylor Swift is NOT a very talented singer. She has a very ordinary voice; but, she is a VERY TALENTED song writer. I think that if she didn't have the song writing capabilities, she wouldn't be as famous as she is. But.. I do like her.
The sad truth is that she has no singing talent. Zero. She has a pleasant stage persona, but she looks sort of weird. Age will not be kind to her.
She sung very poorly on Saturday Night Live, although she handled the comedy sketches well enough.

Robinson and his band Black Crowes were never anything but a pale copy of early Rolling Stones, he has never written a memorable lyric. Funny to hear a washed up hack musician from a copy band talk down to a real talent like Taylor Swift. She is an original, no one sounds like her or connects with her audience like she can. Her songs like "our Song", "hey steaphen" "love story" "white horse" "you belong to me" and now "mine" all are stories in the best tradition of song writing for young audience, they are simple yes, but just try to write one… don't think that 5000 Nashville hack songwriters haven't tried to come up with one as good as any of them for years. They sell in the millions because Taylor knows how to tell the story and connect with her fans. Nuff said, you can't criticize that kind of success, it is a new direction in both pop and country, people scratch their heads and try to find the "next Taylor Swift"… that's the game.
i agree with him too. just because you're buddies with taylor, perez, doesn't mean you have to blast anyone who is not pro-taylor. everyone is entitled to their opinion. she sings terrible live, and her songs are cute…but nothing more. she's so successful bc of the age of girls she appeals to, and the fact she crosses that country/pop bridge and appeals to both crowds. everyone is entitled to their opinion, boo. someone might argue that she's fantastic live and writes deep, meaningful songs. that's your opinion, whatevs.
Taylor is very talented. I don't know how this is even being debated?! She sings, plays, and write nearly all of her music. She can't help it that she's gorgeous inside and out, that should not overshadow her talent or the fact that she a great performer and connects with her audience.
In fact, I think this is Chris' sad attempt at being relevant and having people talk about him because he knows these comments will outrage her fans…I don't think we should give him that satisfaction.

Everyone is saying she can't sing live but I'm guessing you've all only seen her on award shows. Would you be able to sing perfectly in front of all those people you look up to? It's kind of intimidating and obviously she gets nervous just like any normal person would. If you go to youtube and see some her performances from her shows on tour in front of her fans she actually sings quite well. When I saw her while she was on tour she sang a thousand times better than she does on award shows and she put on an amazing performance.
Yeah, she pretty much doesn't have any talent whatsoever. Kanye made her as popular as she is now because everyone felt bad for the poor little pretty girl who got upstaged at that show. Her songs are not by any means great, they're catchy and no one will remember them in 10 years. She can't sing live, and if she would just open her eyes instead of squinting all the time, I'd be very happy.
