Exciting!

The UK's Channel 4 is developing what sounds like their own version of The Daily Show!

The topical comedy show, set to air in October, will broadcast live on Thursday or Friday nights, and will most likely feature David Mitchell, Jimmy Carr, Charlie Brooker, and Lauren Laverne - who previously worked together on the four hour Alternative Election Night back in May!

We want to watch! We bet British humor will work VERY well with that kind of format!

Thoughts??

This has made me so happy! Although I'm not sure Laurne Laverne will really add anything…

oh please. we've been doing satire since the 1960s. shows like "that was the week that was" started the whole thing. this is not a new format, you did not invent satire, we did! the daily show wouldn't exist without british comedy and it still doesn't have the balls to rip on the u.s. govt as much as we rip on ours!!!
the line-up sounds good though, apart from lauren laverne. she's useless.

wow, britain finally venturing over into comedy….. why didn't you guys every think of doing comedy before? Maybe they can take a look at THE OFFICE, SANFORD AND SON, ALL IN THE FAMILY and THREE'S COMPANY and do something with them too

    I LOVE PEEPSHOW!!!!!
British Humor on TV is far superior to American.

    I adore David Mitchell!

It's about time the Brits stole a brilliant TV concept from [the] US.

Re: europeansarepedophiles – Do you know how many countries Perez is in, and in how many languages? Read your memos.

Nothing really new tbh we have sooo many political satiracal shows already…mock the week, have I got news for you, 8 out of 10 cats

Re: europeansarepedophiles – Seriously? That's really quite sad.
Last time I checked the internet was a global thing & websites weren't restricted to individual countries.

Oh & learn to spell :)

  17. 17

    YAY!!!!!
David Mitchell is a legend :D

Re: europeansarepedophiles – your username isnt the only thing thats stupid about you.. its worldwide you pathetic moron.. go back to your cave and dont come back out…. please!

  19. 19

David Mitchell will be perfect for this!

  20. 20

    Firstly, fuck off.
Secondly, I don't fucking care what happens as long as long as Charlie Brooker is involved.

  21. 21

its only fair we nick some shows after all those you stole off us ;-)

Re: Mancunian – It's not really though. It's a live topical comedy show. Like Have I Got News for you, only not a panel show.

And this is like the perfect combination. Lauren Laverne is meh, but she's better than most female comedians. Charlie Brooker and David Mitchell are perfect, and Jimmy Carr is awesome

  23. 23

Earth to Perez…the Brits have been doing this stuff for ages. And The Daily Show aren't exactly groundbreakers for their genre in the United States, either. Have you ever seen Saturday Night Live?

  24. 24

Jimmy Carr, David Mitchell & Charlie Brooker :D I'm deffinatley excited for this. I love them three.
And Re: Diva-Babe – is right. We have many other shows with a simliar format of topical humour like Mock the Week & Have I got News For You, the later has been going for over 15 years I believe. Plus many others. We brits are know for our humour…and an outdated setrotype of bad teeth. That's wrong, but the humour thing, stop on.

Re: europeansarepedophiles – Yep you're correct no English people can read this……you FUCKING RETARD! And as for inbred, your country is about 400 years old, ours is thousands old, who do you think populated your glorious country? Oh yes, it's us inbred "pedophile Europeans" (by the way it's spelled paedophile in England, you know, where English was invented.) Go back and tell that to your Mum and Dad oh, sorry I mean your Mum and Uncle.
