Lots More Expendables On The Way!

| Filed under: Bruce WillisFilm FlickersSylvester StalloneMickey Rourke

Why do we feel like we’re still going to be writing about The Expendables five years from now?

We probably feel that way because it’s clear that Sylvester Stallone is going to get every ounce of mileage out of this project as possible. Now that it is officially evolving from a movie to a franchise, he’s got all types of plans.

First on the schedule is a director’s cut of Expendables, which will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in about six months. Along with the director’s cut, Stallone has reported that he’s recently finished an audio commentary, as well as a documentary companion piece entitled Inferno: The Making of The Expendables.

He’s teased us about the documentary by referencing a story about a stunt gone awry, where Sly was brought to a hospital in Brazil, where they told him surgery would be required for a spinal cord injury to his neck. Damn, Sly…why do we suddenly see flashes of Mickey Rourke’s character in The Wrestler?

Stallone is also pumped to get going on The Expendables II. Here’s what he’s saying about the project:

"I am thinking what would be the most dangerous places in the world to set the sequel?… Had dinner with Bruce Willis… I want him in Expendables II as a super villain. What do you think?"

We’ll give it some thought, and get back to you, Sly. In the meanwhile, maybe you should also start brainstorming about The Expendables III. Instead of the most dangerous place on Earth, maybe in the threequel you can set it in the most dangerous place…in OUTER SPACE!

Are U excited for more Expendables?

Have all of these has-been stars been rejected from DWTS, hence, these films?

    Expendables was awesome.
    Please make more.

Not interested at all but that's just me.

Re: Angus8 – Hell yeah, it was so much fun to watch. I would rather see Bruce's character join forces with Sly and his team and maybe even Arnold's team joining up as well.

He and his suit are tooooo shiny…..too bright. Rocky will always be on my list of top 20 all time favorite movies.

The Expendables was a good night out movie, and didn't disappoint. I'd love to see Pierce Brosnan somewhere (who didn't deserve the Bond glueheap) and makes a wicked bad or brainy good guy; the legendary Chuck Norris, and Mel Gibson is always fierce and could likely use a coupla supportive guy friends right about now. Segal and Van Damme might sign up now that they might be wiser, as there will likely be more than one (and bigger budgets.) I like Billy Connelly and Tom Selleck, and supporting maybe Michael Vartan from Alias. Someone might be able to coax Redford out for an ensemble fun thing like this, and I'd bet he'd be thrilled to be asked. I'm happy for Sly.

I expected so much from that movie, but it's awful!

The action scenes are so fast, I didn't get anything but a headache! Sly, please, slow up a little next time!

And I missed Vin Diesel. A Movie with so many action heros and no Vin Diesel. It was perfect if he acted in the next Movie. (that means, if the action scenes slow up)
