Eminem Wins Royalty Lawsuit

Eminem's gonna get paid!

A federal appeals court has found that Eminem's former production company F.B.T Productions LLC is entitled to royalties by Universal Music Group (UMG) for music downloaded over iTunes or sold as cellphone ringtones.

Last year, a federal jury ruled against F.B.T., however, the appeals court ruled on Friday that the contracts between UMG and F.B.T. "unambiguously applies to permanent downloads and master-tones," which entitles Eminem and his producers to a 50-50 split for recordings licensed to iTunes and other digital distributors.

This ruling could potentially affect how record labels and artists make financial deals in the future. Very inneresting!

Why do you suddenly love Eminem?

Glad you came to your senses and stopped calling him "Feminem" but I do wonder what prompted your new found love?

    I got it!

It's because Gaga probably wants to do a collaboration with Eminem, given his new record and how amazing it is. Think about it - Rihanna is raking in the dough for doing that song with Eminem…Gaga wants the same thing, and to reach a wider audience (hop hop world) But it AINT gonna happen! She is way too commercial and Eminem isn't going to buy into her whole manufactured image. I mean, he does have standards.

No tears for UMG. I hope these large dinosaurs realize that the artists are the ones that make the money and deserve the most of it.
