Emma Watson Hates On Twilight
Uh, oh.
Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, made a derogatory comment about the Twilight saga.
While discussing the kiss she had with co-star Rupert Grint while shooting The Deathly Hallows, Emma had a few things to say about the sex scenes in Twilight.
"This kiss between Hermione and Ron is highly anticipated, it's been building up for eight films now. And Harry Potter is not Twilight, you know; we're not selling sex.”
She’s right. Twilight sells sex and Harry Potter sells…middle-school kisses and magic.

Wow, I'm a little surprised that so many people agree with Emma. I happen to love both series, for different reasons. Harry Potter is definitely geared toward the younger, pre-teen as thought children are pretty young themselves and I think their appeal is an exciting story about the trouble that children can get into, with a very magical focus. Twilight is geared more toward a teen and older crowd as those actors are practically adults. To me, it's appeal is a Romeo and Juliet type love story with a mythical focus. I think some people are looking past the fact that the focus of Bella and Edwards relationship was love. Bella was a virgin until after she married Edward, so I really believe Twlight was about the love story and things that try to keep love apart as you grow in a relationship. It doesn't have the exciting magical scenes that Harry Potter does, but it still has a good story on a different level. I don't think it's any more right to compare the two than it is to compare Titanic to High School Musical, they have completely different story lines and are geared to completely different audiences.

lol The two book series have different purposes and audiences. Harry Potter "sells" fantasy and magic while twilight "sell" romance. Both generate interest in a large audience, but twilight is oriented toward young adults, while Harry Potter targets young teenagers and children.
I don't think she meant wrong. Most likely, the quote was taken out of context, as usual, and she probably used too strong of a word. To say that Twilight sells sex is absurd, considering Meyers' position on the subject and the incredible amount of censorship in the books.
