Camp Rock 2 Is A Ratings Success

| Filed under: DisneyJonas BrothersDemi Lovato

Who knew??

Guess we should never doubt the power of tweens ever again.

Disney Channel's Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam brought in insane ratings this Labor Day weekend, nabbing 8 million viewers during its premiere broadcast. With so many viewers, it became the highest rated cable movie in 2010.

If every single tween that watched it on their television bought a ticket to see it in the theaters, the movie would have grossed $63.2 million on its opening night!!

Disney may have missed out on a golden opportunity right there! Final Jam or not, the JoBros and Demi may wanna looking into a second sequel.

Those teen musicals always do great.

Wow it looks stupid. dont care.

  5. 5

    loved it. love the jobros.

  6. 6

As much as I hate to admit it, eight million isn't that good compared to HSM2 or even CR.

  7. 7

for some reason i watched it, and it sucked. bad.

perez, camp rock 2 proved you wrong
you said it would flop and IT DIDNT!

    go fucking suck it,
that proves thaat you truly dont know shit.

p.s. camprock two was amazing, and even better than the first, and the first was great too!

    I just love Demi Lovato.

I LOVED the first one but this one lacked quaintness - or something. Too much Jonas Brothers for one thing. The songs were an improvement and some of the dances made me laugh which I guess I shouldn't be laughing at dance numbers but I did!

  11. 11

I watched it but i never would of went to go see it in the movies.

  12. 12

I LOOOOOVED IT!!! Jason (Kevin Jonas) was awesome! And the Bonus Jonas (Frankie) was great!!

  13. 13

    I LOVED IT!!

  14. 14

Not even half of those viewers would have spent money to watch it at the theater. I'm sure it would have flopped if it was in theaters… people watch these cable movies b/c they're FREE.

  15. 15

I watched it! It was fun!

great movie… Loved matthew mdot finley as Luke of camp star! what a performer/dancer

  17. 17

they only advertised it for 3 months prior to the viewing… seriously. no joke.

  18. 18

demi lovato was the big star of that movie.. jonas brothers didn't do squat.

  19. 19

like the jonas boys, like demi lovato, liked camp rock…but please, NO CAMP ROCK 3!

that's not bad but i thought it'd do a lot better. compared to the ratings for a lot of other kid's specials and movies, 8 million isn't all that impressive, especially given all the promotion.

This was a fail. Ratings were down versus the first one and it was the highest rated TV MOVIE. A regular iCarly episode has more viewers.

  23. 23

Ugh…my household unfortunately contributed to that. My little cousins were over and had it going on TWO televisions at once. I had a headache from the horrible music and dumb story line.

And once again, you are completely unable to do any research on anything before you post.

    "Who knew?"

Uh…everyone did Perez, except you, big shocker.

Camp Rock was a success. Uh, ever heard of the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato?

How can you underestimate the success of a tween Disney made for TV movie after all the High School Musicals?

PLUS if you had bothered to crack open any reputable news source, unlike your own, you would have NOTICED that people have been talking Camp Rock 2 up for MONTHS NOW.

but go ahead bringing your "NEWS" to the masses! Good job!
