New York Times To Go Out Of Print In The Future, Says Publisher!

That's what the publisher thinks!

Arthur Sulzberger of the New York Times spoke at a London media summit yesterday and proclaimed:

"We will stop printing the New York Times sometime in the future, date TBD."

Sulzberger's statement was in response to a prediction that the newspaper would go out-of-print by 2015.

Sad.

    YES!!!! There is a God!

  2. 2

Finally, those liberal fucks needed to die long ago. Good ridance.

  3. 3

It's been in financial trouble for years. No suprise!

  4. 4

I'm sure that they mean the will produce an electronic version of the newspaper, and stopping the actual printing of the paper. That's what the talk has been.

  5. 5

This is scary, i grew up reading the times. still do.

But i hat how nyt is adopting internet commerce standards that violate people's privacy.

I know they will get their act together on this online privacy issue, like they did when their online Time Select feature went BUST.

  6. 6

Its nothing but Left Wing garbage, and its obsolete!

  7. 7

    yikes!!!

They deserve to die. Who wants to read a slanted, non-news arm of the radical libtards? You aren't going to find out what's going on in the world from them!

  9. 9

Damn, Neo-Cons really hate The Bleeding Gray Lady, caramaba!

    Long Live The Gray Lady!

  10. 10

WOW. Think of how many trees will be saved. I LIKE the NYT, but our society really has to start eliminating paper waste, and that's a great place to start.

  11. 11

    This is sad.

  12. 12

it would be a sad day to all when the New York Times closes and Perez blog rises

what the world come to be my god….40 years ago was better

Jesus thats a relief, this paper is the biggest liberal rag in the country, some absurdly left wing extremist shit, cant wait til it ends.

  14. 14

What a tragedy this would be. The NYT has set the
standard for journalism excellence and class for generations.
Granted the paper is not what it used to be - mostly due
to economics - but it remains the voice of reason and
intelligence in what is left of this sad nation. If the Times
goes out of print all remaining newspapers will follow and
everyone will be forced to read the news on their computers.
God knows, all the TV news is crap and it's reduced to a 30
    second sound byte, if that.

  15. 15

It had its day, but they started killing it when they turned everything from front page news to movie reviews into a politically slanted statement. Im sure they will carry over their bent to an on-line version. But it will be amusing to see who will pay for it.

  16. 16

This isn't "sad" - it's AWESOME! No one reads this liberal trash paper anyways, that's why they are going out of biz….

  17. 17

america has been so dumbed down i'm surprised anyone can even read a newspaper anymore. it's much easier for the mindless sheep to just watch the propaganda on Fox. just the way the republicans and the corporations want it. keep all the idiots occupied with fake fear of immigrants, gay people, muslims, ect… then they won't notice while we out source all the good paying jobs and basically destroy what's left of the middle class.

  18. 18

Wow @ all the NYT hatred–how bizarre. Anyway, as others have said, he is referring to the PRINTED version, the e-version will live on. Perez's writer conveniently left the quotation marks of "Print" in the title.

Re: AttFinch – LOL. Way to go off on a "RePuBliCanZ sUcK! FaUx NeWz!!' rant on a story that has nothing to do with any of that.

    …Psychoo….

I just love how the internet is turning traditional media on it's head. The MSM has manipulated the people long enough with it's bias and outright propaganda. The internet allows the people to circumvent the compromised MSM's monopoly on information.

  25. 25

Out of print — not out of business. Called evolution. Will be electronic. Duh!

  26. 26

Before to long there won't be any printed newspapers. Online,e-books and the like. Conventional printing is a dinosour with a very limited time left.
