Willow Smith Signs With Jay-Z's Record Label!

| Filed under: Music MinuteJAY-ZWill SmithJada Pinkett Smith

Good for her! She certainly has the talent to back it up!

We were tickled pink the other day by the premiere of nine year old Willow Smith's first song, Whip My Hair, and apparently we weren't alone!

The daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith has reportedly just signed with Jay-Z's record label, Roc Nation!

Amazing! What an unbelievable achievement!

We expect great things, bb!

    Go away!!

  2. 2

I don't think someone her age should have a record deal. The more young people that are signed, the more shitty music is created I've noticed.

  3. 3

    Does she already look hardened?

  4. 4

Achievement??? Please…this is just another case of a "celebrities" kid getting special treatment. I thought the song was stupid, nothing worth "a record deal"….hmmm

  5. 5

I feel like the Smith family are really in my face and won't go away till I give them all my money.

  6. 6

Oh what crap. It's nice that her parents are well known-little brat

  7. 7

    Scientology kills!
    Remember Lisa McPherson

  8. 8

Wow. mom and dad help their daughter get a record deal with a company that puts out records for black people.

sounds like a regular day in a rich black mans life.

why can't she earn it like everyone else???

  9. 9

It's not an achievement when daddy and mommy gave her an 'in.'

  10. 10

It sucks that these kids are gonna be shoved down our collective throats for decades to come…another reason to look forward to death!

  11. 11

Isn't she like 9 years old….what the fuck happened to allowing kids to be kids. Achievement my ass….this contract was bought out by her parents. Just in the same token that her punk ass brother is an "actor" because his daddy paid for him to be in the movie. Perhaps these parents should let these kids have a normal life…otherwise we have another Lohan in the making. For fuck sakes Hollywood is so beyond annoying!!

  12. 12

Money makes money, end of story.

  13. 13

I hear Whip My Hair on Hot 97 New York, Angie Martinez show on Wednesday, 9/8. Now THAT'S some shit!

  14. 14

I heard this song on HOT 97 New York, Angie Martinez show on Wed 9/8. Now THAT'S some shit!!

  15. 15

I'm kinda surprised that her parents are letting her do this. They know the risks of early fame better than anyone. Her talent will still be there in a few years.

  16. 16

Dude, how much cash are you getting greased Perez to blog such outlandish LIES about this kid? She fuckin SUXXXXX. If it wasnt for AUTOTUNE she wouldnt have the nerve to try and sing. Will Smith and YOU are whats wrong with the industry.

  17. 17

    NO nepotism here.
    I HOPE she can sing.

  18. 18

Fucking stupid. Yeah, a "real achievement". She didn't have any help at all. LOL

  19. 19

Good Lord, I can't stomach it's mom and dad. Now you have to tell me we have to deal with having their demon spawn shoved down our throats to.

  20. 20

She's 9, and she's cute, but she's not a performer. This is stupid.

  21. 21

Another pair of celebs kids that will be chewed up and spit out of entertainment before 21.

  22. 22

Who'd she have to sleep with to get that deal?

  23. 23

I am sure she did it ALL ON HER OWN!!! NO HELP FROM HER PARENTS!!!! That she walked into the studios on her own, sang away, and got the contract on HER OWN!!!! Had nothing to do with the fact that her father is Will Smith, not at all….. Hey Mario, how many people, err… kids are going to 'buy' a 9 yo's song(s). Or are they going for teen choice awards or something. sickening, I understand how their kids are interested in show business, but first their son gets the starring role in the 'karate kid', by rewriting it to make the 'star' 10 years YOUNGER and now their daughter wants to be a singer and SURPRISE! she gets a recording contract! How many 9 yos have a recording contract?

  24. 24

    Rihanna junior?

  25. 25

"an unbelieveable achievement"????? YEAH RIGHT!!!!! I'm sure it is very very difficult for a kid to get a music deal if they are Will SMith & Jada Pinkett Smith's offspring. Wow, way to go! That was so difficult, I'm sure. BLARGH.

  26. 26

Ummm can you say 'hello' to the next Rihanna?

  27. 27

too much too soon let her be a kid i've not heard her sing but if she has talent it will not go away she's only nine ….pitiful with what is done with kids today.

  28. 28

noooo not Roc Nation…great…the girls soul has gone to the devil. look what happened to all the girls on that label. *shakes head*

  29. 29

U kno, i would prob. say amazing! if she waz a kid livin a normal life and did this all herself and she really had an amazin voice, but her parents prob. got this 4 her and im guessin she's no Jackie Evancho.

  30. 30

Poor girl got her daddy's ears.

  31. 31

Even more money that JayZ does not need! I see heads getting even bigger!!!!

  32. 32

Nepotism at it's best. So lame!!

  33. Wrenn says – reply to this

All of daddy's money isn't going to change this little lesbo back to normal.

  34. 34

Who knew the new Joe Jackson would be a woman called jada Pinkett Smith and who knew the new Katherine Jackson would be a man called the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

  35. 35

These parents are morons, she should be playing soccer or going to dance class and doing what NORMAL CHILDREN do, this is BS, another Lindsay Lohan in the making….

  36. 36

A degree from a University is an achievement…not your daddy getting one of his friends to hook you up….

  37. 37

    Re: Shewolf – LOL

  38. 38

pimp those kids out so you can pay your cult to keep your dirty gay secrets!

  39. 39

Achievement!!! What kind of achievement is it when her parents have all the money, friends and fame to push their kids in to the public spot light.

  40. 40

yeah we will see if the money and fame will make her happy..

  41. 41

Why all the negativity? You're bitching and moaning but she's not even in your demographic. She'll be appealing to the tween set, and they will love her. No one is forcing her music down your jealous throats. She was born to this….to her "this" is a normal life. Relax.

  42. 42

How is this an achievement? She didn't earn it. Nepotism is at work again.

  43. 43

  44. 44

    she's got her mama's eyes, but…
that nose, mouth and dem EARS are allll will!
    lol :-)

  45. 45

    Achievement? Ahahahaha, yeah, right.

  46. 46

Re: jeanmarie – errrr…..cute? She's ugly and looks like a boy

  47. 47

look, i think we can all admit that if we had the contacts, whether is was through family or not, we would take advantage if the opportunity was available to us and we wanted it… so who cares if it's clearly nepotism.. buttt, i do still think 9 is a little too young….i mean, she was born in 2000! She's in the FIFTH grade…not even middle school yet.. and i didn't like her song.. not very fitting for a 9 year old….wait a couple of years.. there really shouldn't be any rush…

  48. 48

more jealous white people i see ha ha ha

  49. 49

Aw she's cute. And talent to boot! xD

  50. 50

She is 9 years old! Can you spell nepotism?

  51. 51

Re: marlow – That's what I'm thinking too. Plus not every child star turns out to be a fuck up in life. Jodie Foster is a prime example of this. I'm going to give her a chance. Maybe she'll progress as she gets older. Can't believe some of these nasty comments are for a 9 year old. *SMDH*

  52. rory! says – reply to this

She's going to be a total brat, if she isn't already. Getting things like this hand fed to her!! SHE'S NINE FFS!!

  53. 53

Reading this only reminds me of the south park episode with her and the other smith's. Figures spoiled rich kids get what they want.

  54. 54

    N.W.A. personified

  55. 55

Whip My Hair? WTF?! LMAO, Jesus Christ no wonder the music industry in going down the tubes. Instead of talent, they're signing 8 y/o talentless trolls who only got a deal because they have famous parents. I hope this little brat gets eaten up and spit out. BTW she looks like a fool with that idiotic hair…

  56. 56

I'm surprised they haven't had her ears pinned yet

  57. 57

why the fuck do will and whatever her name is need to whore out their kids, dont they make enough money, let ur kids be kids when ur already got ur fame and fortune, its not like they need to support will and whats her face

  58. 58

Black people no matter how rich they are just place no emphasis on education.
    Really sad.

  59. 59

Re: Angus8 – Really? because I'm black with 8 brothers and sisters and we all went to college! Our parents wouldn't have accepted any less.

  60. 60

Re: URwhatUeat – Why exactly does it matter that they're black? Also the English band the Sugababes were signed to Roc Nation and 2/3 of them are white…

  61. 61

nothing like forcing a talentless twit on us! she's about as talented as a block of drift wood!

  62. 62

one more thing, she needs to pick one hair style and stick with it, she's got a dozen going on right now. looks retarded!

  63. 63

u are such a filthy kiss ass perez..uggg

  64. 64

Generally, P, you give credit where credit is due i.e. Lady Gaga. Not this time! This moppet (muppet) needs to stay in school, learn how to sing, if that should ever happen, and make her own accomplishments. Since when did you turn into a Scientology Sycophant?

  65. 65

    Re: Gagalicious_x – thats disgusting..she's 9

  66. 66

Even her hair looks ridiculous, no need to even mention the "song".

  67. 67

    Thats good :)

  68. 68

Do we really need or want a mini Rihanna?
    I know I don't.
