Thank God! We will finally know which movies to watch again!

The revamped program called Roger Ebert Presents At The Movies will air in January 2011 on PBS and will not only cover movies, but will feature special segments on new media, classics, on-demand viewing, and genres.

The half-hour show started by Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert in 1975 and is responsible for creating the famous “thumbs up, thumbs down” ratings for movies.

Roger Ebert will not host the show. Christy Lemire, film critic of The Associated Press, and Elvis Mitchell of National Public Radio will be co-hosts.

We give this show two thumbs up!

Right on. I love to watch movie review shows. Even if I don't agree it's interesting to hear the critiques.

My God. Will you live the rest of your days with some RESPECT AND HONOR to yourself?! Do you think ANYBODY wants to see you looking like that?!?!!? Let me tell you: NOBODY DOES. I mean it. Look in the mirror. Just stay home and enjoy books, write an article, and watch TV.

Thank god for the co-hosts! The last few starting with Siskel's replacement have all been shit!
No one better than Ebert, so hopefully he can still contribute via computer.

    Re: camaguey
    cam, what's your major malfunction?!
He beat cancer, twice, he can't eat or talk, so now he can't go out in public to do his job, just cuz you're shallow? Besides, he be stylin' in a black suit and silk scarf, and, to put it in a way you might comprehend, his writing is fucking AWESOME.

Get out of your basement and go meet some real humans. Go volunteer at your local hospital, go watch elephant man, grow a pair, and get back to us on that showing 'respect and honour' thang.

I thought he had lost his voice in his ordeal and had to do the syn-voice thingy…

  11. 11

I regress…seems I saw somewhere on the tube a while back an old fan/computer tech inventor was able to sample a large part of his old video and audio recordings and created a custom synthetic voice that is suppose to sound like him. It will be curious how the new format works and like many here wish him a thumbs up!
