Wesley Snipes: ‘My Ex-Financial Advisor Lied’

Wesley Snipes is out for revenge!

He claims his ex-financial advisor, Kenneth Starr, lied under oath and should be charged with perjury for turning the jury against him.

Starr, who plead guilty today to wire fraud, investment fraud, and money laundering, screwed his clients out of $20-50 million and is facing 45 years in prison.

That’s gotta sting.

Snipes, who is facing three years in jail, is demanding a retrial due to Starr’s alleged perjury and because he was under investigation for fraud when he took the stand against Snipes.

Looks like crazy Wesley might have a shot at getting his retrial!

I suspect Mr. Snipes may have been badly manipulated, but I'm not sure that ignorance is a defense. I do know they'd be better off allowing him to work on a strict probation so the tax dollars owing can be paid back, and hopefully with interest. America needs the money, and Snipes can make it, but only on probation. Putting him away COSTS the taxpayers hundreds of thousands. He doesn't seem to be a threat to anyone. The probationary limitations along with the public embarrassment alone are quite a bit here for a working actor. He doesn't have a long criminal past.

Re: @v@ – Hey pal - well then, to paraphrase Wesley from Passenger 57 - the IRS would be "betting on black". Also, thanks for the opinion on the D.L. video from a couple weeks ago. Be seeing you.

DEFIANTLY SOUNDS LIKE A RETRIAL TO ME. THERE IS NO REASON A STAR LIKE SNIPES WHO MADE MILLIONS, WENT WITHOUT PAYING SOME KIND OF TAXES FOR HIS INCOME. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE HE MIGHT HAVE REASON TO BE TELLING THE TRUTH, IF INFACT STARR DID LAUNDER HIS MONEY INSTEAD OF PAYING UNCLE SAM!! FIGHT IT!!

Re: Sir-Bangs-Alot – He can't blame Starr. Starr was his financial advisor. WS did not file a tax return for 3 years, did he forget? Starr's fraud is completely separate from WS paying his taxes.

Re: @v@ – Why are you such a softie? Ignorance is never an excuse. No jail time? Bla bla bla…many white color criminals don't have a criminal past, are not a threat to society etc, but they broke the law, and writing a check simply doesn't cover it. WS did not file tax returns for 3 years. How could he forget, when he was earning millions?

Re: GothamGirl – Yeah, I know. I'm more of a softie these days for the shell shocked unemployed who need it more than Snipes needs time (rather than his cagey money managing accountants). In better times, I'm with you. All of the corporate institutions who make a boatload off of housing prisoners have already made a boatload the last few. America's incarceration rate is way higher than other allied countries.

Re: GothamGirl – Gotta add that if STarr comes out squeaky clean and the buck clearly points and stops at Snipes, then I'll have to say that he'll look good in orange for a bit.

Re: @v@ – Starr will not come out squeaky clean, he has pled guilty. He defrauded investors of 60 million dollars, in a gross breach of his fiduciary duty. But that is separate from filing tax returns. Starr defrauded many well known people, (Bunny Mellon, Sylvester Stallone, Uma Thurman, Al Pacino, the list goes on and on). But none of those people failed to file a tax return. What is Wesley's excuse?

      Re: GothamGirl

I'm sure he signed paperwork. It just never made it to the IRS. People who make tons of money NEVER do their own taxes (duh). Even a peon like me has someone do it for her. The rich are constantly getting ripped off by their accountants and advisors.

    12. 12

Re: Christina Polo – I never said he did his own taxes! And if he didn't file for 3 years, he received a dozen letters from the IRS. It is still his responsibility, accountant or not.

Re: @v@ – Well said, ignorance is NOT a defense. Didnt he hide out for a time over all this? He isnt guilty? Really?
