Although rumors persist that American Idol producers have been scrambling to finalize the judging panel and begin shooting auditions this month, sources say that the urgency only media speculation.
“The urgency is not there. It only exists in the press,” said an insider. “People need to just chill.”
Now that Simon is out of the picture, there are no crazy schedules to adhere to. Not to mention that Idol has not even completed the preliminary cattle-call auditions.
The earliest the judges could get together would be September 27th and even that is doubtful. They could even convene in October or November without production falling apart.
“It would just mean more editing in a shorter period of time,” added the source.
We're not worried. It's going to blow no matter when they decide to start!
