Goosebumps Coming To The Big Screen!

This could either be really epic or really lame. Our 11-year-old self is praying for the former.

In the 90s, if you weren't carrying around a copy of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps, you might as well be invisible. No really, you didn't matter if you weren't engrossed in the stories of Cold Lake, Horrorland or that deranged evil snowman!

The books spawned a TV show, which was decent, but fans of the series have been waiting almost a decade for word that a movie would be made based on the franchise. Today, consider your prayers answered.

Columbia Pictures has settled on a scribe to pen the mildy-horrifying kid's flick. Screenwriter Carl Ellsworth, whose other works include Red Dawn and Disturbia, will be given the honor of melding an awesome collection of mystery and horror stories into one movie.

That's a pretty solid sounding resume to us! Get moving Carl! We're ready to be in for a scare!

Are U excited about Goosebumps getting the movie treatment?

this sounds fun. i remember reading the books and watching the show in the 90s. the piano one freaked me out, because i grew up playing piano so was convinced i could hear it in the middle of the night!

You were at least 14 when Goosebumps came out P. Seems a little old to be reading books targeted towards 9 and 10 year olds. You should have been reading Fear Street instead…much better series and a little more on par for a 14 year old

    Anyone remember Point Horror books?
They were consider more 'grown up' and were the much more popular choice in England during my school years.

OH MY GOD, just remembered my favorite ones, the ones with the kids on the island! R.L. Stine wrote like 3 of them or something? My absolute favorite Goosebumps books!
And yeah, the one in that themepark/horrorland was awesome.. And the one with the boy who bought the slime which kept expanding! And the one with the plants in the basement!
Some of them were so scary! Or, well, I though so when I was a kid, read them since I was like 6 years old…
This is amazing news! Thanks Mario!
