A triumph!

Last Friday's Stand Up to Cancer telethon was a wondrous success. Over $80 million in pledges were taken for cancer research and treatment. It was a good day for the multiple networks that were involved as well as ratings for the special were up 15% from last year.

Congrats to everyone who made a tremendous difference!

It was a telethon, did they show commercials? If they didn't, what did the ratings matter? Ratings are all about selling, selling, selling, selling. Ratings do not matter. As for the $80 million, HOW MANY CANCERS IS THIS MONEY BEING DIVIDED AMONG? While it is great that people donated, really great, it is a drop in the bucket towards any research. And don't you realize it Mario, there are several forms of breast cancer and about 200 forms of cancer total. Again, 80 mill is great, but after it is all divided up, administration costs are taken out, and divided up, how much is going to research for each individual type of cancer? I am really surprised Lisa Swazye was doing a fundraiser for Pancreas cancer by itself. Cancer of the Pancreas is probably the deadliest form of cancer and doing much with the pancreas is Rare (very few pancreas tranplants so far)

I do know it is everyone's personal business how much they donate, BUT, I would like to know how much these 'celebrities' that are on the telethon donate, if they donate at all. $80 mill-there were some very rich people maning the phones at the telethon, ones that could DROP $1 million as a donation the same way one of us text $10 to Haiti. DO THESE PEOPLE DONATE MARIO, OR DO THEY THINK THAT BEING A 'PHONE' PERSON IS ENOUGH?

You are always blabbing about charities but you don't actually GIVE to any!!! Big difference Mario!!!
