Amen, Sister! Obama isn't some knight in shining armor. And just because he looks different than all our past presidents and well-known politicians doesn't make him different. Actions speak louder than words.

  2. 2

I actually agree with her 100%. Obama doesn't give a damn about the gay community. Of course he pandered to them for votes and made promises of change, but then turned his back once elected. Just like Lady Tranny, pandering to the gays to get fame and fortune but never doing anything to help the cause.

  3. 3

She treated you with much more respect than you treated her in silly video. She is a class act. Why is that you aren't posting video messages to Obama, whom you voted for instead of McCain who last time I checked doesn't not represent you unless you have moved to Arizona.

  4. 4

Based on her stance on the LGBT community alone you NOW think she is a "smart cookie?" YOU are a pathetic one-trick pony. Do you care of nothing else in life?

  5. 5

You gays just don't get it!!!! Having someone in the military openly saying they are gay is just asking for trouble. You really think some macho marines are going to be comfortable sharing baracks with a queen?

  6. 6

Re: azalea1974 – I think she is a massive hypocrite! She needs to remember what side of the political fence her dad stands on. The idea that homosexuality is equal and accepted is a liberal idea. The republicans are certainly not notorious for their liberal attitudes. Does she Honeslt think her dad and his macho war mongering friends would try and make things better?

  7. 7

eh didnt even read her comment cause she's hot

  8. 8

Wow a Republican's Daughter against Obama? Shocker. Hey it doesn't matter if your republican or democrat if your daddy get's beat out of the presidency because your dad had to run with the idiot of Alaska your still not going to like Obama. To argue he has not said anything about it to an extent, but people there are videos out there of him mentioning it would go to vote. It's not easy being in politics you have to be politically correct so often and your interviews are so controlled do you really think he had a chance to say anything or that it would be a good idea? I'm surprised no hard core white power extremist has not shot him. On the other hand I think so far he is living up to what he mostly said he would do. It's not easy to change things that have been going down hill since Clinton's Administration and gosh what Bush did will take probably 15 years to turn around. It takes time folks time and a lot of kissing ass to get what you want so you tread a thin line in that world. Well we will see what happens especially since DADT has a bunch of other not so great of bills attached to it. Read into it peeps bills like these always have something bad attached and for getting rid of DADT we will take a step forward and probably a huge step back with something else. Just sayin.

Re: sensfan999 – such a stereotyping whore you are. just because someone is gay doesn't automatically make them a queen. i have known many straight men who are way "queenier" than lots of gay men. it's not all black and white idiot. there's lots of gray in between. in fact i've known several marines that are gay. gays and lesbians have served in the armed forces since the beginning of the military. this is nothing new. hopefully soon they wont have to hide who they are. i don't know if you really believe the bullshit you wrote or if you where just trying to get a rise out of people, but if you do really mean what you say you are one ignorant piece of shit.

    Love Meghan McCain!

  11. 11

In not so few words, Mario, she is telling you to shut the fuck up! :o )

  12. 12

Actually Obama IS advocating for the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell. Obama made it possible for gay couples to have hospital visitation rights…he also signed into law the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Bill and solidly stood against Prop 8…unlike your Dad Meghan Obama does support FULL equality for gay unions just not marriage.

  13. 13

Obama allowed gays hospital visitation rights and signed the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Bill…If John McCain had his way being gay would be ILLEGAL! Is she seriously comparing Obama (the most pro-gay President we've ever had) to John McCain's? What an insult! I USED to actually support you Meghan!

  14. k-lee says – reply to this

So people who support LGBT are smart cookies?

    Why are you an idiot?

  15. 15

She was awfully quiet when her dad was campaigning..of course it is easier to diss the president now.. A little too late for me, she should have spoken out when it mattered

  16. 16

She's right its hard for her to come out and disagree with her father. She's very bright. And correct, you need to talk to the politicians you elect to office before you giver her crap about her dad's beliefs

  17. 17

I don't agree with how you attacked her for her fathers stance just so you had something to post about.
You are pathetic and you didn't even deserve a response from her.

  18. 18

    I 100% agree with her!
I really love it when the View has her on because she really is a balanced person. She looks at both sides of the argument.

  19. 19

Every Western country in the world has gays in their military, and the world hasn't ended. Except the USA because it's as religious as any Moslem nation.

She's right about Obama. Imagine sitting on your hands and doing nothing if Blacks weren't allowed to serve? He's a hypocrite. Rights for your own group but screw everyone else.

  20. 20

Re: queen_0f_p0p – He's "asking," but also said it needs more "study" even though it is within his power to end it with a single signature. His! So why isn't he???

  21. 21

Why does everyone blame obama for everything that is going wrong in the country Obama is doing all he can Bush take 8 year to fuck up the country so its going to take Obama a while to fix it he is not superman the republicans useing any issues just to attack him if it was up to MCains they would probably ban them from the us state she needs to shut her face she annoying she is a spoiled little kid who daddy didn't win so she buttface

  22. GG78 says – reply to this

Obama, like other Dems, promised the gay community the world and most of the gay commuinty fell for their lies ! That's what you get when you vote for someone based on ONE ISSUE !!!!!

  23. 23

you would call her a dumbass if she disagreed…

  24. 24

Very well said. If anyone wants to bash her now you are stupid.

  25. 25

    GROW UP!

  26. 26

    Re: AttFinch

  27. 27

Re: Crystal Cat – Exactly and she's just trying to sell her book.

  28. 28

One of the world's greatest generals Alexander The Great! Just sayin..
    Peace Out,

  29. 29

Bush actually increased gay rights by signing the Worker, Retiree and Employer Recovery Act of 2008 (WRERA). The new law made it mandatory for businesses to roll over retirement benefits to a same-sex partner in the event of the employee’s death. I forget and I know republicans hate gays and all, but wasn't George W. Bush one of those evil republicans?

  30. 30

Re: curiousred – "You really think some macho marines are going to be comfortable sharing barracks with a queen". I took it as an assumption that straight soldiers would not want to bunk with gay soldiers, although they already do and have been for years. It doesn't seem that gays and lesbians being in the service has prevented our armed forces from being the one of greatest in the world. So how would that change all of a sudden by abolishing DADT? And I also took sensfan999's description of gay men as queens to be derogatory and stereotyping. Please enlighten me to what i might be missing, MORON!

  31. 31

Meghan's a total dyke who loves munching on muffin cooties.

  32. 32

You know, like, this girl, like needs to have like a speaking coach, like so people might like listen to her high school speech rate and like take heed.

  33. 33

He'd be screwed one way or the other. If he spoke out for LGBT rights all the little redneck assholes would be fire bombing the White House the next day (if not that evening) and if he speaks against them than he will be protested against and a whole number of other things. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. It's a fine line a president should tred and it's better that they stay nuetral. Unlike Bush who liked to go on and on about how being gay is wrong. Don't hear little Missy going on about that. Someone is obviously just butthurt that her daddy didn't get the White House digs and thus /she/ didn't either.

  34. 34

Perez, you should be talking to the people running in Nov that can change laws when elected. All the democrats running should be standing up for gay rights. What has Obama done for gays? You need to make them accountable. All the gays elected the democrats. Do democratic elected officials take for granted the gay vote???? They have not supported gays or changed things.

  35. 35

I swear, every other post on your blog is something about being gay. That includes the Gaga posts.

  36. 36

Ok So I'm going to take down her response in pieces, because that's all anyone understands.

"I am a supporter of LGBT rights and am against DADT - I fight every day."
Then Why is Perez Hilton having to get your "official" opinion on it?
"Until you are the daughter of a republican senator - don't assume what I do and the stances I take are ever easy."
Yeah, alot of us are the daughters of republicans… next point!
"I love my family and I love the gay community. There's a lot of anger being projected at me personally for my father's stance on DADT. I love my father very much and we disagree. Project your anger at politicians and the president you elected,"
Well we're just making sure that if do in the event BECOME (or try to) an Elected Official that your are motherf=ing consistent, because we know you guys will say anything to get into power!
"because last time I checked - Obama isn't exactly advocating for LGBT rights or removing DADT."
Bitch, don't be talking shit about our president, I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate that comment if it was your Daddy. And he's done alot more than you, miss "i'm informing the world through Perez"

  37. Tmack says – reply to this

Obama has supported the repeal of Don't ask Don't Tell, its just that a bill is being stalled in congress because people want to play politics before the election on November 4! John McCain is actually one of the people who plan to filibuster the bill. Fillibustering is a political maneuver used by the minority party to stop bills from coming to vote. They've done it with almost all of the pro-democrat, pro-middle class bills that the Dems and Obama have been trying to pass. In the Senate you need 60 votes to prevent a filibuster. While democrats have the majority, there are some conservative democrats who are siding with republicans on this issue. If Senators like McCain actually supported the bill, it would get passed and Obama would sign it into law. Meghan, you're spewing typical republican crap, blame Obama, when in reality it is the outdated ideas of people like your father that are why DADT hasn't been repealed.

  38. 38

i dont get why you were on her ass anyways. its not like she was the person in the running, it was her dad.
and im shocked/proud of how much class she put towards you. cause lord knows if it was me…i would have ended up at your front door and knocked you.

  39. 39

    YAY for today's free-thinking youth!

  40. 40

Re: GG78 – exactly. unfortunately the gay community is easily fooled. they also put gay rights before HUMAN rights. its like having tunnel vision and not being able to see the big picture.

  41. 41

Re: queen_0f_p0p – You are correct.

  42. 42

I'm sorry, but Perez and those republican, teabagger zombie readers out there…wake the fuck up!!!!….I live and work in DC, and see EVERY DAY what the President is trying to do….and I see what Mccain does not do…..PRESIDENT OBAMA has been making efforts to repeal DADT…..if any of you had a vague concept of what the President's power is, you would know that the House and Senate are standing in the way….so, you dumb asses erring on the side of the republicans…KNOW THIS….we KNOW you are part of the conservative, TEA PARTY, bigot wagon….quit trying to fool the rest of us….and Perez, you should pay attention to these uneducated people who don't know their mother from the neighbor girls (or boys)….these are the stupid and dangerous people who have brought us sarah palin and the like…..make your site the difference, not the joke…..hugs

    Re: AttFinch

I actually asked some people in the military because I was curious, and I got mixed reactions. I found that the ones who were just doing their 4-6 years were very much "I don't care…sure" and the "lifers" were the ones going "there's gonna be trouble."

I asked what kind of trouble, and why it bothered them, and the answer I got was: unless they had separate barracks it would be trouble. He said to me, men and women are separated because of sexual attraction so they should do the same with gays. He said he doesn't want another guy checking him out anymore than any of them women would want guys checking them out in the showers.

I can understand that part of it, and I even read an openly gay military officer say the same–that they should have separate quarters.

  45. 45

She has a good point. Perez, why aren't you criticizing Obama? She has been respectful of you….maybe you can learn something.

  46. 46

    Re: sensfan999

Not all gay men are "queens". I'm not. Many of the gay men and women who have been thrown out of the military did not go around parading their sexuality. People found out about them and told on them.

  47. 47

    Re: psuguy

    Excellent post!

  48. 48

um, what do you mean thank you for finally giving her opinion???!!! she has been giving her opinion on gay rights and don't ask don't tell for ages and it's been clear that there is a divide when it comes to her and her father. she just made you look like a fucking fool perez and you accomplished absolutely nothing!!! you are so pathetic and all you do is give opponents of gay rights ammunition because of the ridiculous ways you try to draw attention to legitimate issues.

  49. 49

Re: Rintendo – what then, separate public restrooms, separate showers, steam rooms, and saunas at public gyms, separate locker rooms in schools? straight people need to get over themselves. NOT EVERY GAY PERSON WHATS TO FUCK YOU! god, what egomaniacs. people are not animals that go in to heat or have mating seasons. they are able to control their sexual urges, and if they can't they need to be dealt with. that goes for straight and gay.

  50. 50

Re: AttFinch – You don't understand, maybe because you haven't been in the military, but getting rid of the DADT is asking for trouble. I personally, being a military member for five years now, have no problem with gays or lesbians. I've taken showers in open showers with females that have been known to be lesbians. I don't think "She wants to f*ck me" because she's looking my way, but not everyone thinks the way I do. Have you actually spoken with someone who is in the military that is gay? Do you think that the only reason that they aren't "open" about their sexuality is because of DADT? If you do, you're wrong.

Censorship is a gross misuse of journalistic power, moderator.
Nothing I wrote was over any line apart from differing with the pink agenda a little bit. Not good, but the board's been going downhill for a while. It's been a slice. Perez is free to let me know what the problem was if he wants.

  52. 52

Re: sahrbear13 – First-thanks for serving our country-appreciate your point of view… but the times they are a changin'!
Boys will be boys, girls will be girls and there will always be "open talk" between them. It is up to the individual what they want -or not want to talk about.
Do you know anyone personally who has been discharged for being openly gay?
The point is-that kinda philosophy is holding our country back!
Most of our allies have no problem what so ever, so why should we?
NOW is the time to overcome this way of thinking-which really just adds up to bigotry. With each generation, gay is becoming less and less of an "issue".
If we continue on this path of exclusion we will never progress. So NOW is the time to repeal DADT-which never should have been in the first place!

  53. 53

    Re: @v@ – Hey @v@ I feel your pain ha ha :)

  54. 54

    Nice job…

When someone bashes YOU bring up what you think the President is or isn't doing. How is he relevant to your beliefs/opinions?

Re: supersongbird – Thanks, song. Sniff. It was a good post he/she smothered, RIP. I come on here for the variety of views and the freedom of speech. It has saddened me. : (

  57. 57

Re: supersongbird – I personally don't know anyone who has been kicked out of the military for being gay. I'm not saying that DADT shouldn't change… everyone, reguardless of their sexual preference, should have the right to serve their country. If the governement does change DADT in the beginning it will be very difficult but over time things will get better and someone being in the military that is openly gay will be the norm, but getting to that point will be difficult.

Love her and her Mom for supporting gay rights. BOTH of them have done more and been more vocal than any Dem I know. I loved her book and thought it gives great insight into her life and beliefs about religion and politics. She doesn't hold back. I'd recommend it to anyone, regardless of your political affiliation.

I personally like that she speaks her mind and isn't afraid to give her stance on things, even if it is in disagreement with her father. At the same time, it speaks a lot about him and her Mom that they have raised such a strong, independent woman who is willing to have her opinions heard. Senator McCain could try to stop her from speaking out, but he doesn't and I think that says a lot. We need more people like her in the part…a lot of us feels the same way she does but we don't have the platform she does. I'm glad she speaks out.
