Jimi Hendrix fans rejoice!

Four new hours of previously unreleased music will be put out by Legacy Recordings. The five-disc set will be called West Coast Seattle Boy — The Jimi Hendrix Anthology. The recordings include both unheard, alternate takes of songs as well as live recordings.

For all of you non-Hendrix fans out there — get with the program. The man was a pioneer in rock music. This anthology drops November 16th, and we recommend experiencing it!

Re: Paris France – That's better than a Manic Depression, Foxy Lady. Purple Haze was acid that was around when he wrote that.

Finally! I'm excited for some music to be released that's actually good. 98% of new music is complete shit, with all the pop crap being spewed out.

Although I was only 8 when Hendrix died, I have discovered his music….Hendrix Rulz !!!!!!! It is always like christmas when I find out that he has more music being released its great news for his fans. I can only try to imagine where music would be at today if he were still with us…he accomplished so much in his short life !!! Love Jimi !!!!

I will be glad to hear this.

    Very cool!!!

Oh Oh here comes the backlash. Jimi Hendrix is/was the most overated guitar player on the planet. Yes he definitely pioneered a lot of electric guitar techniques and sounds and that is where his contribution to music really lies. However the man did not have a melodic bone in his body. He might be the best industrial noise artist around but that's it. Morse, Satriani, Beck, Vai and White to name a few are much more talented. And if you want to see a truly inspirational guitarist check out Adrian Legg. The music is different than Hendrix but there is no denying the true talent.

Re: @v@ – Hi V, lol I have the entire Jimi Hendrix Experience in my Ipod. My parents were huge fans of his. I've always loved his music. ANd as you can guess Purple Haze is my favorite. The song that is.

Purple haze all in my brain
Lately things just don't seem the same
Actin' funny, but I don't know why
'Scuse me while I kiss the sky

    Purple haze all around
Don't know if I'm comin' up or down
Am I happy or in misery?
Whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me

    Help me help me
    Oh no no… no

    Yeah
Purple haze all in my eyes
Don't know if it's day or night
You've got me blowin, blowin my mind
Is it tomorrow or just the end of time?

No, help me aw yeah! oh no no oh help me…

Re: Canukian – It would have been a great tragedy if he'd sacrificed his vocal and musical style in an attempt to be melodic. His razor timing in the use of soulful staccato phrasing disguised his very real ability to hit perfect pitch once in a while from bar to bar just to keep the sound of the tune pulled together. What he did was fully intentional. He was like no one else, and that's part of what makes a great artist. The things he was doing weren't like anything everyone else was doing. When he played, people stopped, ears up, jaws dropped, and eyes popped.

Re: @v@ – OMG! Did you get a chance to see him? I've seen PBS do a very good story on him. I agree with everything you said about him. Now that was an artist gone too soon! Rock on Jimi in heaven.
