Blame Scientology!

It's the silent marriage killer!

Yesterday, Elisabeth Moss officially filed papers to divorce SNL performer Fred Armisen. Their marriage only lasted about 11 weeks months, but according to documents, the couple hasn't even been together since June!

Maybe wonder what exactly happened to break the seemingly happy couple up. One source points to the Mad Men star's strong tie to her religion, Scientology. According to the insider, Elisabeth had more of a marriage to her faith than to Fred. The source explains:

"Her religion was as important to her as their marriage, if not more. He could not get with it."

It's a hard pill to have to swallow. We still don't know how Katie Holmes is dealing with it! (Oh yeah, she's not!)

Tough break, but at least your both moving on to new people. Hopefully, it was amicable.

If it wasn't, do tell!

In the cult of scientology you can't have contact with family and friends that are outside the cult.

First, must determine what is true, US, your source, Mario/Perez, has been making up a lot of 'stories'. Okay, say it is true, if couples are going to get married and they are of different religious or one is religious and one not, THEY MUST GET COUNSELING prior to the wedding planning. Their BIG FABULOUS WEDDING can wait a few months. It is the same thing if they come from different cultures. How well did these 2 know each other that they separated after a few months of being married? So many of these hollywood couples act like High School kids, or the rednecks on Jerry Springer-after a week or two, declaring their undying love, (getting married if they are over 18), not willing or understanding the word monogamous and breaking up (divorcing, separating) after the first fight. Do they not understand their vows-in sickness and in health, to death to us part?

mario - do you even know anything about scientology other than the fact that john travolta and kirstie alley are both involved in it?? my guess is no and you just incessantly rant on about something else you know absolutely nothing about…….

Oh, and although I think scientology is a cult, I will not blame it for the marriage failing. She has been a member, I assume, for more than a year? If so, he knew what he was getting into. Even if she just joined, it is the person, not the 'religion' (oh, how I HATE calling it that). But anyhooo, if all of this is true, it is another case of 2 people not knowing each other well and 2 people wanting 2 different things out of their marriage.

All "RELIGIONS", including Scientology, are money laundering operations to bypass the taxing authorities, in addition to conning people to give them their money.

  7. 7

Re: justtfax – my answer to your question, whether rhetorical or not - these people simply don't care. most people are selfish and simply care only for themselves so what does it matter what they promised to not only each other, but also to and under God…….simply my thought :o )

  8. 8

Yeah, but out of all the crazy religions out there, scientology is by far the worst and craziest.

  9. 9

Elizabeth Moss is adorable. It's too bad she's in the Scientology cult.

Re: justtfax – then be strong and don't call it a religion. because you're right, it isn't one. it's a cult. flat-out. I lose not just a little but a LOT of respect for celebs like her who are Scientologists. I have read up on it many times, especially expose-type articles from former members. It's just awful and sad to me.

Is it just me or is this bitch UGLY AS HELL!!!!

    @Pam's Used Silicone Breast -

Yeah, damn those stupid, money laundering churches! Damn their soup kitchens and homeless shelters! Damn their donations to needy families. Damn their community clean up effors and their free counseling and their youth events. DAMN THOSE CHURCHES!

People complain about churches asking for money, yet they don't complain about non-profit organizations asking for money. I guess they forget that churches - like nonprofit orgs - have to pay utilities and rent too but so they can keep their doors open to help people. I guess they also forget the food cost money as well and that the clothes they give out usually aren't free.

I dont know anything about scientology so i dont want to sound like an idiot making a comment about it I know that i belive in christanity and anything else sounds wierd and strange to me . So good luck to them both

run for your life Fred! whew, that was a close one~ if you see scientologists, run run run in the other direction~ these are dangerous crazy people.

    With cults, cults come first.

Scientology hurts people every day. It may be a religion but it's also a mafia. A gang. And if you don't do whatever they want - go to endless training, invest all your money, organize your life around rectifying the bad behaviour of an evil outer space overlord, and ditch anyone that has anything bad to say about the group - they will make your life hell. People that don't support the total control the organization enforces on its members are called 'SP's' which stands for 'Suppressive Person' and an SP is supposedly toxic for whatever said member. 'SP's' are 'Fair Game'. This means that they are viable candidates for - stalking, phone harassment, legal harassment, web harassment, character assassination, and removal of access to loved ones. It's time to get real about these thugs. Personally I think the Los Angeles DA should prosecute the organization under RICO Act because they fit the bill.

  17. 17

I know that Fred Armisen is dating Abby Eliott, but who has Moss "moved on" to?

  18. 18

Re: justtfax – Wow you're really angry over a couple you don't know getting a divorce. Is that bitterness I am sensing? Divorce happens. People fall in love and get married too quickly. And not all interfaith marriages require counseling beforehand. Go channel your bitterness into something worth while, like feeding homeless people or something.

  19. 19

Re: texasgirl123 – Wow. Open your eyes and learn a few things about the world. Tunnel vision gets you nowhere good.

Scientology is an evil, vindictive, brainwashing business, not a true religion. They treat the members like crap, making them work for little or no pay for hours on end doing manual labor, menial labor (picking up cigarette butts in parking lots for hours in 100 degree heat), and in "official" capacities as "officers" of the organization. It's a whole other world. Horrible if you're in it, tough to get out. And if you do leave, they consider you an "Enemy of Scientology" and put your name on a list as a "Suppressive Person" (SP). They encourage their members to harrass, threaten, trick, sue or ruin any SP. Everything Kittendom said is 100% correct. It's a dangerous, vicious moneymaking empire founded by a pathological liar. L. Ron Hubbard was a greedy, manipulative guy with a face like a mildewed eggplant. Yet the "church" members salute his picture or a bust of his head ("Hip, hip, hooray!") at every morning's muster and every SCI event. They need to be taken down & stopped permanently.

I feel badly for Fred…….HOWEVER…….this will make hysterical material for a new SNL skit……"Married to the Cult".

I can just imagine some of the bedroom scenes……with Xenu in bed, between them…….Fred thinking "WTF???"…….while the mrs. plays with her toy DC_8 airplane chanting "Xenu loves me, this I know!"

I wonder if Fred has received the infamous "disconnection letter" yet, basically telling him not to contact her or any other scientologist EVER AGAIN, for a billion years! Priceless!!!!

Seriously tho, Fred…….you are lucky to be out……just don't open your mailbox if its hissing, or any packages that are ticking. And you should be fine.

    Xenu strikes again!

  23. 23

Re: April 20th – Yeah and you sound like you have no idea about it either!!

  24. 24

I guess this cult just doesn't get it. Their motto must be….."when you fail, fail again!". When Lisa Marie tried this same stunt with Michael, he balked too…….and she dumped his ass, in record time.

Is there a watch list of single Xenu celebrities, so that the paparazzi can speculate on who their next marital "victim" is likely to be?????

Oh, that's right. Scientology is graying out and only attracting sub-par or "has been" actors/actresses …..everyone else has stampeded out of the building! Can you blame them?

  25. 25

no way - Fred is a known womanizer.

  26. 26

He's disgusting. Can't figure out how he gets ANY hot chicks. (He seems to like the "little girl" types)…

  27. 27

    blame cheating!

That sounds like a person in dire need of intervention. Sacrificing a husband to a theology is not a price that any sound theology would ask of someone. What God hath brought together let no man put asunder.

  29. 29

scientology didn't bother fred, monogamy did. date of separation listed as june 26. temazcal's tumblr reads: LOL WUT JUNE 26 IS THE DAY HANNAH AND I SAW FRED AND ABBY TOGETHER AT UCB HAHADHAHDASBHSBAHA

Eh, don't blame scientology, blame the individuals. I'm a scientologist and my partner isn't, and we've gotten along great for over five years.
