Although the film is just coming to Italy, it has made a stunning $753 million worldwide. It's so successful that it may even have its own video game!
Director Christopher Nolan said:
"I did always intend for this film to give a mass audience a really entertaining experience. But my fear with the film was always that it would be misinterpreted as being overly cerebral or puzzle-like." The box office "far exceeded my expectations or hopes."
The film will be released on 600 screens in Italy on Friday, so there is more $$$$ to come!
Producer Emma Thomas added:
"Really 'Inception' represents an enormous gamble, or trust, shown in us as filmmakers by the studio and we are really grateful for it. Once they saw what the film was, they figured out how to sell it, and that is really an amazing experience for a filmmaker to go through; I think it's one that we will always cherish."
Wowsa! We bet the studios are cherishing it as well.
