Felony Charges Likely To Be Dropped In Anna Nicole Smith Drug Trial

| Filed under: Anna Nicole SmithLegal MattersSad Sad

And this case just keeps getting more and more complicated.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Perry is likely to dismiss various felony charges against Howard K. Stern and two doctors in the drug conspiracy trial over Anna Nicole Smith's death.

Although it's unclear which charges will be dropped, Perry claimed Monday that there was enough evidenced given in the prosecution's testimonies that support two of three conspiracy charges.

It all depends on whether or not the prosecution can prove that Smith was a drug addict, because according to a pain management expert's testimony, she was never diagnosed as such - instead, just a victim of chronic pain from a rib injury, and grief-stricken over her son's death.

All so tragic, and frankly, we're not sure what to think about this entire mess.

What do U think?? Should the charges get dropped??

That's funny, because a while back you were saying that they were all guilty and should be locked up. You had all the answers then. What happened? Did you finally learn some actual FACTS that may have changed your mind?

No, the charges should not be dropped. This woman needed help and these people had a responsibility to help her. It's clear she's had a problem for many years, she should have been put into a rehabilitation center and program years ago. By all accounts they took advantage of her and as a result ended up killing her.

    drop it !

Yes and no,she was a drug addict that couldn't handle the fact that her kid died from the drugs from her stash…Stern had nothing to gain. The doctors on the other hand are guilty and should be charged.

So, Howard K. Stern, the likely supplier of the heroin/methadone that killed Daniel, the son, doesn't have to answer for that.
Is in no way criminally charged for flushing down the toilet Danny's drugs after he od'd right there in the hospital while visiting his mother, Anna Nicole, who'd just given birth to his baby sister.
Is not censured by any bar association for his alleged involvement with narcotics and financial mismanagement of Anna Nicole's funds.
Will not be held civilly liable for Anna Nicole's death??
I guess the Bahamas is a good place to get away with murder–twice.

First of all, oh my god, why do I bother coming to this website?! Its nothing but annoying adds shoved down my throat

Most of it is being dropped before it even gets to the jury because the whole thing is BS. I’ve been following this case and countless times the judge has gotten frustrated with the DA for some reason or another. Usually lack of evidence. If the DA even bothered to do it’s homework it never would have gotten as far as it did. Is it too much to ask that some how the DA would have known that their own witness would debunk their own case or that they’re witnesses weren’t reliable??

Perez, if you want to write about this whole thing start writing about how much the tax payers of California have gotten screwed over the this major waste of money! Don’t you live in California Prez?..That’s your money the DA have pissed away.

And for those who say that Stern killed Anna and Daniel and he did it on purpose- people are just rolling their eyes at you.

Drop it. She is no longer in pain. She is in the arms of the angels and with her son.

The charges should not be dropped. The waste of taxpayer dollars on this trial is unconscionable (not to mention the judicial resources that were wasted on the estate proceedings)…if the charges are dropped the whole dramatic saga will have been for nothing…and it will demonstrate that celebrities are above the law.

I'm wondering WHY they'd be dropped. Why.

I think Stern should be held somewhat responsible. I also just heard there will be some very shocking NEWS to be revealed on a show called "Issues" with Jane Velez-Mitchell regarding this Anna Nicole case. Issues is on tonight and they may be the only show to have this new information, and are being very mysterious about it. Hmmmm.
